I found on another review that there is a small tool sitting next to the guitar output whicn inserts into the tuning knobs and helps to adjust the tuning. You should not do this by hand.
I find your strings too far from the fret board. How to fix that ? Sure it's impossible to solo leads with this

I think the reason you had such a hard time trying to adjust the tuners is because you didn't use the included little hex key that is tucked away in the body of the guitar just below the tuners.
