Did you ???? the cab ?
Cool looking guitar tho
Now I understand why acoustic amp is expensive
Just ‘speaker’ is really not for acoustic
Sounds like the pa needs an upgrade
Good comparison. You can get a great sound out of a PA, but you need an amp emulation in front of it. Most often, these come in pedals, but could be a computer program or rack system too.
Some examples would be the Joyo line (American Sound is my favorite to add at the end of a pedal chain if you already have some effects pedals), Tech 21 SansAmp or Flyrig, Line 6 HX Stomp, Boss GT, Kemper, etc. There are many more, and different price and quality levels.
But generally, you need something that makes the “sound quality” of a guitar amp that the PA then just makes louder.
I was suffering from the grainy sound of connecting my distortion to the PA system until I got an amp pedal and it was the best thing I ever did. This is a very good comparison video.
I just plugged my Tagima TW530 Strat Style guitar into my Peavey XR 530 powered mixer. After fiddling around with the EQ and reverb, I think I got a sound I can live with for now. I just have to put it to the test when I get together with a drummer and another guitarist later this week. I am getting into instrumental surf music, but don't have the money for a good amp right now. This may take care of the need for the time being. Thanks for this helpful video.
how did you connect them???
my nice pa's sound way better than my cheap amp thats all i need to know
Lol that was a good one
You need a new PA
But will it chug?
yes wow guitar amp sounds a bit familarly not as good as the pa sounds more professional seems to me
Thanks for the video. I lost a bunch of equipment when I moved out of the last place I was staying. Dude kept my PA and two amplifiers, all of my harmonicas, etc. It's bullshit. I have a different PA here now that I haven't used yet and was thinking of plugging one of my electrics into it to sing with. I see that it at least works now and it's better than not having a guitar amp to use, so I'll probably try it out.
Great video, interesting and fun!!
I play harmonica via PA system
Josh what about this comment can you give your thoughts on this comment from below? Many solid guitar amps are basically single channel PA amp equalized to mid tone. By using PA with equalizer, you can come close. The other major factor is the speaker. Guitar speakers allow more mid range to come through and breakup at certain range to give nice distorted sound. PA speakers are full range speakers that can play from bass instruments to any high range instruments. Play a bass through a guitar speaker will blow the speaker at high volume. For clean guitar playing like jazz guitar, PA with equalizer will sound good. Acoustic guitar gives more bottom end due to hollow body and higher timbre so PA amps will work nicely.
Thank you
There's something very "Fun with Flags" about this…
Try a guitar pre amp through a pa
