Gibson firebird those things can do both they’re like the master of none but they’re a master of it. I don’t know how to describe it like you can make it sound like a surf rock and a less Paul you know they’re kind of like 90s, but they’re like more versatile, those Firebird pick ups.

I purchased a 2024 Wildwood Spec with '59 Tribute Humbuckers. The world of tone is at my fingertips. 8 months of playing everyday and I still have a ton of sweeping to do on my pots. I have settled for tones and know I have a world of tone left. It's almost immeasurable.
I think that if Joe sticks with it, he's going to get the hang of the guitar playing thing sooner or later.

A Les Paul is capable of many different sounds… it's the same with a Strat and a Tele… INMHO.
I used to play out and one night a guy said " you're the only guy I ever heard make a Les Paul sound like a Strat" … it was an early 70's LP Deluxe like Townsend or Scott Gorhman (sic) used to play.
