Does your pedalboard really need a power brick like the 1 SPOT Pro?

Does your pedalboard really need a power brick like the 1 SPOT Pro?
Truetone owner Bob Weil (inventor of the 1 SPOT) gives a detailed look into why a 1 SPOT Pro is a “must-have’ item for many guitarists.
He also gives a full run-down of 1 SPOT Pro features and examples of the quiet effectiveness of these power supplies. “Power-hungry” pedals? No problem! We have you covered! If you have questions not addressed here, please call us at 931-487-9001 or email support@truetone.com

NOTICE: Please note at 12:45 in this video that 350 mA was based on what we thought was accurate information gathered online. Using our new mA Meter, which we developed over a year after this video was originally made, we found that the Line 6 M9 actually pulls around 550 mA. However, it can easily be powered by the 9v AC output on the CS12, or one of the higher 9v DC mA outputs on either the CS12 or CS7.

  • So can I power a pedal that draws 9V 800ma with the 9V 500ma output? While still occupying all other 9v outputs with pedals under 300ma?

  • Great presentation. I was thinking of getting a CS7 and this video really persuaded me. I appreciate a person who loves their work and cares about every detail.

  • Could you please advise what's the polarity for CS7? I've got only 6 pedals, but two of them have different polarity and I'm looking for one-brick solution.

  • dude looks like the guy from the ferngully like movie ( Avatar for those mellenials) ???? cant wait to get my pedaltrain built, undecided between cs6 and voodoo 8…

  • I have a 1Spot CS6, Can I run 6 of my 9v battery pedals off each of the 6 outputs? Even though some of the mA are 200 and 500? or should I daisy chain off one output? Thanks

  • Finally switched to a CS12 last year after using a pair of Onespots for years, and I couldn’t be happier. My inherently EXTREMELY noisy rig is considerably quiet, and the CS12 has tanked falls, getting a boot, beer, or body at shows, no matter what gets thrown at it, it still keeps on chuggin.

I had absolutely no idea the rated current draw of individual outlets didn’t matter as long as it’s under the unit’s total rating, incidentally I’ve been holding off on an 18v pedal (the New Division from Pastfx!) because it needs 150 mA… so there goes my only excuse!

  • Just to make sure…I have Wampler and Keeley pedals, a boss loop station and vocal processor pedal…I also have a loop switcher…They all require 9v DC (The same power requirements as standard Boss pedals), center pin negative power supply specs. How many actual outputs does the cs12 have that meet this requirement? Thank you…OR would I be better off using the Truetone 1Spot Daisy Chain? I love those little things…

  • I forgot how great these power supplies are with the breakout of the Strymon Zuma. I've built the last two of my client's boards with Truetone – a CS6, CS12, and another CS6 powered board is on deck. I'll be building a board for myself with a CS12 very soon. Still an awesome product and product line after almost ten years.

  • Question, can I plug your Multi-Plug 5 Cable (or 8, for that matter) into an output on my CS7? It has enough power for all my pedals, just not enough outputs ????

  • Just got a CS12 from Sweetwater. Absolutely love it! I have a couple of normal OneSpots as well. Y'all are a great company!

  • Hey there! I've seen two vids of yours in which you say that an M9 can be powered by one of the 9V 500mA plugs, directly. On other sites, I'm reading that I also need to use the polarity reverse cable. Is this true?

  • I am thinking of purchasing the cs7. I have a AKG sr40 wireless system that states 300mah at 12V. will the cs7 run it as it only states 200 on the cs7….any help please. I think what your saying means it will work.

  • I've been using CS7 for over 5 years now, under my Pedaltrain Classic Jr. powering 9 pedals (8 analog and 1 digital, around 530 mA in total). It's been working flawlessly, but I am starting to wonder, is there a lifespan of the power supply? Could parts start failing, possibly frying my pedals? I haven't read many horror stories about Truetone power supplies, but I've seen a few where the outputs stop working, or the correct voltage isn't given out (caps dead? linear regulators? not an expert here). I've read someone mentioning that the caps used inside the CS power supplies are cheap and low quality. Could you guys reassure me? Thanks!

  • Hello. Id like to know if i can power my Wampler Pantheon, Big muff(russian),Tc Flashback2 from a 1spot without noise. Im considering buying maybe some other pedals like a rat2 and a Ehx holy grail, and maybe a Chorus/flanger too. Do they daysychain well together or would it be a better option going for a cs6/7? Thank you in advance!

  • I think the AC feature is the thing. No one else did that. Its the one thing on my board that still has it's own wall wart. I've always hated that.

  • Hi True Tone, Im
    trying to build a small
board with a Zoom MS50G, Digitech Drop, SD 805 overdrive & a boss TU3. Can the 1spot wall plug handle the power requirements or do I need the CS6? Thanks

  • what about the voltage doubler that you guys sell. the description states 100mA, but is it the same case? I have an 18v 500mA pedal. would it work?
