  • Nice video and explanation. I had a similar experience. I had always dabbled in guitar for years but never really developed any great skill. I have a friend that has played for years. He showed me a couple of fret board tricks and it just made everything so much easier and understandable in a quick, single moment. I'm sure your book will do the same.

  • I play the piano (not well), so to me as a beginner guitarist the whole concept of notes not being immediately obvious at a casual glance is very hard to cope with! Thank you for the video – hopefully things will be a little clearer now…

  • It is harde when we determine to string nerest (up n down string) 6 to 5…5 to 6 etc…it is easier 6 to 4 or 5 to 2 etc

  • Im incredibly fortunate to watch this on my first month of learning guitar and music.

Being totally new, music theory is pretty much in Chinese to me. But this explanation was incredibly clear and easy to follow, and most importantly easy to use in practice. Thank you so much

  • The problem is for me as a piano player AND a non-English speaker my notes start with C ???? That’s why I gave up pretty quicly when I first started to study guitar ???? This time I’m determined to learn playing guitar, but this video doesn’t really make it much easier ????

  • Brilliant, been wondering about this since I was 12. This just cleared thing up. I'm now 58 years old. Thanks. Now I just need another new guitar!

  • Bought your book on Amazon because this video proved it would be worthwhile for me. 6 months in to learning guitar and so many questions.
This information in book form seems like a great reference.
    Thanks.

  • Sorry but this is way too much effort and complication . Just learn how the musical alphabet works with whole step / half step and learn both your e strings then slowly memorise the other strings up to the 12th fret . All this go up down go up 2 what string am I on move across to this string that string …. Way too much unnecessary complications

  • this is very cool! my ony suggestion would be to use a picture of piano keys to visually show the black sharps/flats, and how we come to the total of 12 notes and thus 12 frets.

  • I have been playing for over 10 years and I have hit a plateau for the past 4 years. You have singlehandedly opened up the entire fretboard to me and I can’t thank you enough!

  • ????☕ I am really good at guitar noodling and can humbly say, I am one of the best guitar noodler. I can spend hours noodling on my guitar and NOT improve at all, not a bit. That takes some kind of massive talent to not improve at all. I think I have some sort of super power fuelled by a real passion NOT to ever improve. Well, I have been noodling for about 3 decades and I can proudly say I have not made any progress at all in 30 years. My goal is to become the first official noodling guitar virtuoso. ☕????????????
