  • Another benefit of the headstock shape is the strings having a straigher line to the peg instead of going out wards at an angle. This puts less tortion like stress on the neck by string tension, which also helps the guitar to stay in tune longer. Seagull guitars use that headstock design for that reason. I've had the full size Klos Hybrid guitar for 6 years now. It's a godsend when flying with it as it fits in any ovehead on planes, no more dealing with airline staff. I gig, busk, jam, etc…. with it and its held up without any problems,. The guitar tone and sustain are awesome and it actually handles effects pedals really well.

  • I got the Grand Cutaway Mini because I like beach parties and bonfires but would never take one of my Martins there. I had an inexpensive Seagull that was great, but a drunk (not me this time) stepped on it and destroyed it. I really like the Klōs guitar and I love the GraphTech Ratio tuners. It doesn't sound like a full sized wood guitar, surprise! But it sounds quite nice, stays in tune, and plays great.

  • Hi Dylan. I really appreciate you delving in to the world of carbon fiber guitars and sharing your findings. Klos and Mcpherson are now on my list thanks to you.
Any chance you will test out an Emerald guitar model and give us your thoughts? Thanks.

  • I have one and the smaller version. I perfur the sound of the big one. However, it is the little one I play the most.

  • Being that this is a travel guitar, I also perceive it as a guitar for personal playing enjoyment, as opposed to a guitar to entertain audiences. That said, I think this guitar should have a sound port on the upper bout, to make the player enjoy the sound more. I've done some guitar mods, adding a sound port, and it makes a big difference in how the player hears the sound.

  • Hello Dylan. By chance have you played the KLOS Full Size Full Carbon in the Timber finish? If so, is the tone of the Timber warmer than the standard finish? Thanks

  • Did you consider the Journey Instruments OF660M? If so why did you go with the Klos over the Journey guitar?

  • Am I crazy, or is that a truss rod opening in the headstock? If that is what I’m looking at, why on earth would a carbon fiber guitar need a truss rod?

  • I’m glad Klos recognizes the value of your work! Nice transition to the van at the beginning of the vid!

  • I love the sound of carbon fibre guitars. I have been gasing for a "Rainsong" for decades. They may be one of the originals in carbon fibre guitars. But just out of my price range. Nice video!!

  • Love my Rainsong WS1000 reissue which is periodically on sale for $2k. Took it across country from the the desert of Arizona to heat and humidity of Nashville – stayed stable and in tune.

  • i'd be interested in buying a carbon fiber guitar. but as with any guitar, i'd have to try one in person to see how i felt about it.

  • I have a Klos full size hybrid (carbon fiber body, wood neck) and it is a great guitar. I use it in my motorhome and I also use it at home. It also has a Fishman pickup and it sounds good. This is the perfect guitar to take out when you don’t want to expose your expensive acoustic guitar to the elements. Good video!

  • I know McPherson has better build quality but how would you compare the sound in the room?

I also own a Sable and Touring. Love them both but I've noticed that the Touring is a bit punchier. Have you noticed that as well?

  • It seems that they have just copied a wooden guitar, rather than make something different and not possible with wood. I suppose you have to get over peoples predjuces first. A cut-away would make it more attractive to me, an arch top round back with comfort curves now your talking.

  • I'm not against non-wood guitars, but I have repairability concerns about carbon fiber. Yes it's strong but it's also quite brittle and can crack and split. I'm not sure it's a better material than a laminate wood.
