Corey’‘s lessons are second to none in my opinion.
Doug, from Denver.
thank you so much Corey! awesome lesson that i havent found anywhere else on youtube. As someone who mainly plays by myself, I never bothered to learn this kind of stuff. But, now that I am playing with other people more I feel like im missing these skills and chords.
Thank Goodness NO BAR CHORDS ! Older folks cannot do Bar chords anymore !
My Man C. C!
This is the stuff I needed to learn, thank you for posting this
Wow, really good stuff. I wish I knew this back in my playing days… (46 years ago) – I did a lot of comping back then, playing with horns, but I never thought of this approach.
This is very useful information. Thanks ????
Two thumbs up, great lesson.
I notice your thumb isn't in the "correct" position on the back of the neck. I find it much easier to play the way you're doing it. Is that considered acceptable sometimes to put your thumb where it is? Is there a general rule for when that's OK?
What’s the thickness of your pick?
Wonderful, thank you.
It's a nice thing to know how you approach creating chord progression. Keeping it tight and closely knitted.
He got me there. "Not a bar chord to be found." That's good stuff, Corey. Haha! 😀
Too jazzy
Thank you Corey! I will use this as connective material to eventually get on those barre chords. Well done sir!
Great lesson Corey !! and Love the (Freak Out) shirt
Prost! Thanks for making my playing better, man.
thanks, ive been needing to learn all those Dominant 7 triads and inversions, this is helpful
Fabbydoo as always,. Thanks Mr C
Corey rules… my one and only rhythm teacher on TF . ???????????? blues on
Playing all bar chords results in bad voice leading. Triads and cage are the key to unlocking the fretboard
So many lessons on scales, licks, and ripping solos. This stuff is so important and surprisingly hard to find put together like this! Thanks!
This is the kind of blues rhythm lesson I was looking for. You're one of the few giving clear lessons for intermediate and advanced players. You don't assume too much and you don't hold people's hands too much. You're both clear and concise. Love it.
You were already my favourite instructor in Truefire and this Youtube Channel is great I am now sticking to you only as instructor and progressing a bit faster by looking and imitating how you play and use your hands.
Corey your lessons are golden. I hope you know how much you help us all understand the possibilities of the blues which are much deeper than most people think.
Thank you and keep them coming. Much appreciated.
Shell voicings ?
Very cool. Very helpful. Thanks!
You talk too much!
amazing man!
Great
Corey, you are the best of blues rhythm teaching. Thank you.
Thank you Corey. I love that guitar. For rhythm, do you prefer a PRS, Les Paul, Telecaster, or Strat? Thanks.
I think the thing that males the guitar endlessly fascinating but also frustrating is the endless rabbit holes you can go down. A simple 1 4 5 blues progression and once you start adding in chord extensions and the 10 different ways every chord can be gripped it gets pretty difficult. But if it was easy we would all get bored so you jist have to bite off small chunks and learn little by little
Thanks for all these lessons Corey. Finally getting out of the never changing power and barre chords. This opens up so many doors and really enjoy playing again.
Absolutely GREAT stuff here – happy found you here on YouTube – Much appreciated – THANKS!
you have got my Sub bro! well done ! Could you make a lesson that explains how you count/timing/rhythm etc. =)
My first visit to your channel. Really enjoyed it. I’ve been using some triads for 3 years or so but only recently discovered the minor triad for example. I needed a dom7 triad. I found your approach really helpful
Thanks Corey great lesson! Much appreciated…..G
Thank you. Awesome Vids.
Corey, you need more gear…
Great lesson. It helped me realize the chords you showed here are what the guitarist was playing on this song:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8oVX-vXlsM
Outstanding, lesson as usual. Thanks.
I love the feel (touch feel neck etc) of a PRS but I've never liked the pickups. You think putting some Gibsons in a guitar like that would sound and feel (feel of sound) like a Gibson?
