  • Do you know if the truss rod nut is wielded on MIM P basses? I damaged it and wondering whether I can replace it or not by simply unscrewing. Thank you

  • 5:41 Love that snap sound, almost as if you were using a pick. Is that a little fret noise, or do you pick with you fingernail? Or both? Love you Dave, you have taught this old dog a new trick or two!

  • I have no idea how you play with such low action…I use a minimum of 5/32 on the E. Do you have weak hands or something?

  • you could try a US nickel at the 12th fret…that medium low ( 2 mm) or take a 2.5 mm allen key and use that as a feeler at the 12th

  • Hey Dave, thanks for the videos, really informative.
I'm trying to lower the action on my precision bass. The bridge saddles are all the way down (can't go any lower). The neck looks straight to me, so I'm not sure if I should mess with it. Any suggestions on how to achieve lower action? It's a MIA body with a MIM Roger Waters neck strung with flats 45-105. Thanks a lot.

  • Hey, Dave, ever look into wooden pickguard? They're pretty neat! I have a maple on my mexican p/j with Dimarzio pickups. Really brightens it up!

Dave, I recently purchased a MIA J. I love it but I'm finding the tunes I'm practicing too are mainly P's. My question is.. There are a few used MIM P's for sale in my area. Would the sound of my MIA AS J sound better adjusted than a MIM P? At $400. would you recommend just getting a MIM P rather than keep adjusting my MIA J to try an imitate an authentic P?
Also, do you recommend a set up shop around the GTA? Cheers Man!!

  • Dave, the cover looks cool — but do you have to take it off every time you change the strings? Seems like you would.
