Bought ODR-1 and JHS Morning Glory. Because I want to emulate Protein Blakc Amp
I’m seriously looking into these JHS pedals
This or JHS Violet Lari Basilio Signature Distortion/Overdrive Pedal ? Which is better?
This was very helpful. Since I am using a Katana, finding a OD that works and sounds good is difficult. Thanks! Subbed!
Not sure what I’m missing, but it’s claimed to be a transparent OD. When I plug my Strat in my Fender amp, it’s clear and bright. When I kick on the MG, the treble is rolled off my tone. I have to dime out the Tone knob on the MG to get my highs back. I don’t know if this still qualifies as “transparent”, but that’s my experience with the pedal. I do like the timbre of the pedal and it’s GREAT for light, edge of clean break up for playing Blues and Jazz. Just wish I didn’t lose all the upper freqs when I turn the pedal on.
Daphne Blue!!!
Can anyone please tell me what is the song being played at 2:13 ?
the most helpful pedal review ive seen. thank you!! love the fact that you talk about different applications in your rig and how its place in the chain changes its effect.
Good work. No criticism, and I’m very fussy about how people do their videos. Just keep doing what you’re doing. You’re very articulate and you’re not wasting any time.
Got me with Blackbird
They certainly sound like pedals ????
DS1 after or before Mornig glory?
Great demo of this pedal. This is my always on pedal, sounds amazing through a clean pedal platform amp. I use it with a Friedman Buxom Betty and it is killer, gives you a natural edge of breakup amp tone. I have tried man others but most color the tone too much for my taste. The foot switch to the hotter mode works great to kick it up for solos.
This is a great review. Thanks!
Very nice demo, showcasing the pedal with single coils and humbuckers without useless noodling. Bravo!
This pedal is my "clean" sound, into a Fender Deluxe Reverb. I use both single coil and humbucker guitars. I stack it with a Boss DS-1, which sound great together. The MG just adds a bit of compression and gain to everything, along with a sort of hi-fi sheen. It's a bit expensive for something that does such a simple task, but it does that task better than anything else I've ever seen or tried.
The DS1 combo is heavenly
We kinda of look the similar
I play some ambient baritone stuff in our set when I’m not playing bass and my pedal board is just the morning glory, a cloudburst, and an empress buffer+. I just plug into my bass amp (gk 1×15 200w combo) turn up the treble and turn the tweeter on and it’s fantastic. Powerful low end kept intact while still getting that sparkley crunch when I dig in. I gotta get that little footswitch though, the gain switch is tricky to hit on stage ????
Nice video . I read the article by Josh about stacking and thought I had to have this pedal . The guys at the guitar store really raved about it and they were right , I love it
