Egon and ray over here, the ghost burst-ers.
Just got a Heritage Custom Core from Sweetwater. They are turning out great guitars right now.
Love ya guys….good stuff always. Class.
Great talk. Really appreciated. Thanks for the soldering tips too. I always do them by myself.
Dylan!
I have Gibson as well as Heritage and love them both. from what I heard, the budget heritage guitars are made overseas, and the company sold out to a company in Singapore.
Great Show guys, I loved it
Thanks for the shout out. In my experience, so far, AI is only as smart as the internet. It's as bad as that. 🙂
Great job Jon and Matt! looking forward to episode 002. ????
Love it guys!!
The parts you use are manufactured in the US but the raw materials are not. Steel, Aluminium, Nickle, Cobalt are all imported into the US primarily from oversees. In time it will all catch up and be reflected in the price of your parts.
Would be helpful if we could download an mp3 audio file for on the go listening. Thanks.
That fake -PAFs phenomenom is not just about unscrupulous persons trying to rip off musicians. It is also about this terrible sickness that some of we guitarists suffer from.
Great set of discussions, tips and the artificial video was fun, Keith doesn't have to worry just yet, cheers!
I tried a Collings single cut with a pair of Throbaks in it. It’s hard to tell where the guitar stops and the pups begin, but it was easily the best LP I’ve ever tried. Even guitars the that costed more off the wall didn’t compare
Great first podcast guys…enjoyed it. Hey Jon, you mentioned welders but didn't say what you recommended. Can you tell me what you suggest…I'd like to know. Thanks
Guitars are never a good investment purely on an economic level. Having a wall of guitars in my basement, the benefit is that I love them. That's all
You guys mentioned links to a proper soldering tip?
Excellent viewing content, gents! ????
Heres my two fishy cents on the Burst issue : They aren't a "waste" of money lol but they are really cool. They are not these mystical magical ethereal things either though, please let me break this down before u hate thumb me in the replies : Think about the time the first humbucker Les Pauls came out. What were ur options then? P90? Single coil of various types? No other guitar gave u, what we now consider prettty ordinary and mundane Humbucker tone(Filtertrons were close but they were totally different tone, brighter, janglyer). It was thick, open and QUIET. Its because of this opening in the market, that i believe, ANYONE that picked up a standard humbucker les paul, would have been BLOWN AWAY, with what they heard, not because there was some magic harmonic overtone that only a mahogany shaped into a guitar between 1958 and 1960 possessed, but because nothing else sounded like that. My argument is u could go back in time to 1955 and hand anyone a Standard 2011 Les Paul off the rack, and they would react the same way. It was the novelty of the guitar tone of that guitar shape and the pickups, that made an impact and inspired folks like Clapton/Page ect. HIDES BEHIND FLIPPED TABLE
Oh i am SO here for this new Podshow
Id doubt (tho I dont know 100%) that the CTS pots that Gibson uses arnt of the same Calibur as the pots used in the 1950s which would have been mil spec. Most of the modern CTS pots are made in China or Taiwan.
I really enjoyed this – please do more. A suggestion – if you continue the guitargument, maybe flip before the broadcast and prepare your sides? I think it would make for a better debate. Lots of fun and knowledge here!
Moo
Just to add, I found all this interesting, but I must say, since the interwebz loves controversy, The Gutiargument Was Classic. The " good cop bad cop" back and forth I found HIlarious. It was funny how John Played Devil's advocate against the Attorneys Pros for Vintage 6 figure gear. That deserves an academy award for " The Most Reality TV of Reality TV Award" Once again, Great Job Guys.
That was great. Reminds me that I need to order some replacement P90s soon. I'm pretty sure my Gibson Custom Shop LP Special has potted P90s. They're okay, but I want vintage accurate, unpotted.
Congrats on your new show! Love the info and tips!
That was an interesting discussion. Thank you both.
I enjoyed this! May you folk get as big as Joe Rogan!
Love it. Keep these coming fellas!
