Welcome to my review of the Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer Overdrive Pedal. The Ibanez Tube Screamer is a Vintage Overdrive that adds a nice mid-bump to the tone while removing some treble and low frequency. This mid-bump is great for helping cut the mix in a live performance situation.

It's big and fat and great with the Strat. It screams with pure bliss with the PRS. What phenomenal iconic tones! Most bang for the buck by far of any pedal I've ever owned (and I've owned a lot of them), It's always on my board and always on. Superb playing, btw.
Sounds decent with the Strat, sounds FANTASTIC with the humbucking PRS.

Well , I might made earlier a comment on the TS but I think it is a heavy overrated pedal.
When you turn it on it's taking over your guitar sound and your amp sound with terrible , too much mid tones , way too less low tones and zero or ugly high tones.
It must adding something to your original sound but it takes over your sound ; it is not a transparant pedal.
For the half of the price there are way better pedals on the market .
really dumb question but someone gave me one of these but I have solid state amp? does it work with it?

I won al of the big names and when I hear the TS9 I ask myself why didn't I go that route before. A friend came in to a sound session and just said: This is the sound I have been looking up for years. And believe me, I have the horsie one and all of that, TS9 beats them all in a band context.

This really is the greatest distortion pedal I’ve ever owned. I’ve bought the $400 ones, I’ve bought the multi effect pedals, I’ve bought so many “boutique” distortion pedals but the only one that I ever truly feel in the soul is the tube screamer.

Since you’re doing the classics now, you need to try a rat pedal.
the only complain I have over TS topology is about the compression, it's always too much for me, about the bass cut ? it's a matter of home players, once you're live nobody, I mean NOBODY can hear your ultrarefined bass. The TS is the screwdriver of your pedals, it's a tool to pop out from the band mix
The mother of the pedals. Great demo. Great tone and great amp. And you too. Very gladly through a Fender mid schooped amp!!!! A lot of guitarists demo the TS with an Marshall or clone. Marshall is mid heavy., The TS is mid heavy so you get an terrible sound and than you say "Oh man this pedal sucks". No, the guitarist made a wrong choise. TS is for mid scooped like Fenders and the Bluesbreaker, Gvnor et all,, are for mid heavy amps like Marshal, Hiwatt etc etc.
I don’t know why but I just find the 808 a lot better. It just has a deeper sound I can’t explain. It has a bit more gain and a bit less treble

I could never get a good sound with my tubescreamer so it sits unplugged.
