Wow I’m a piano player trying to learn guitar???? this is like physics for my fingers! It’s really amazing ! ????
This video is a great resource for learning about power chords and understanding the music theory behind them, thanks to Andy's clear explanations and insights.
Uhh
Me not knowing anything about playing but always reading & watchin vids thatre simple to some but extremely confusing to me..almost foreign.
Watchin Sunny Day Real Estate live got me really into watchin the guitar work..of all the bands i see, ive never been so stuck staring at how they play their instruments..its nex level????
Someone explain the diagram it just looks like a grid
How do you mute out all the strings? Especially when lets say the power chord is the strings in the middle how do you avoid both E's and the other strings
What do people mean "finger a minor"????
That kind of sounds like dynamite by ac/dc

I love power chords, and tend to include the root octave.
I’m sitting here smoking a j,, putting strings in my razorback and you just confused the heck out of me ????????
what? ????
Uhm???? alil help?
I thought I knew what a power chord was before I watched this video…????
No I don't know wtf is going on.????
to those a bit confused heres the music theory behind it in a nutshell:
chords are made of 3 letters
first letter is the name of chord(hence called the root)
next 2 letters are the 3rd and 5th letters on the scale
example scale:
C D E F G A B C
C is the root
E is the 3rd
G is the 5th
power chords ignore the middle guy
(note: not all scales have the same letters)
tune your guitar
Isnt that just an interval?
Tune up!
If you only play the root and the fifth it wouldn't technically be a chord, since a chord is made of three notes or more ☝????
That’s not confusing at all ????
Did you said sh*t?
My sound has no power behind it
Great thanks. NOW what is a root, what is an octave?
what
Wtf are you talking about
fvck im so confused
Just a question because I’m super curious, do you strum all the strings with the pick to play the chord or just the ones your fingers are on? Rock on dude ????????
Thanks!
Fantastic Andy, thank you.
