Thank you for your lesson.
ur my teachers wrapped in, that was incredible serious
Just ordered your book. Looking forward to it.
Excellent instruction, Ross. Btw: Your Melodic Soloing Masterclass was fantastic too. I picked up your Melodic Soloing with Triads last year when you were giving it away. I started it but then life then got in the way. I have restarted the course – it is great. Although it now appears to be a paid course, if guitarists are new to triads, then it may well be worth the investment. You have been very generous, Ross. As a small way of saying thanks, I picked up your Beyond Pentatonic Blues Guitar ebook. Thanks again.
Your a great player. I have been watching you for a couple years now. You sold me. Definitely investing in your system.
One of the BEST youtube Guitar Channels …Ross Campbell!
after listening to you for 3 weeks, getting Bulletproof Guitar and Melodic soloing, I have multiplied my guitar knowledge by 2 or 3 times. Now there's hope!
Oh yeah, I got the book, too.
Ho comprato il tuo libro spero che sia ottimo come il video. I tuoi video sono molto interessanti.
Some of the most comprehensive blues guitar tuition currently available. Well done! I shall be buying the book.
Hi Ross, thanx for your nice lesson approach arround the minor penta scale. Only one comment in your chord sheet the last chord is A7 but on the backing track the last chord is the five chord E7
Such a great flannel
Hi Ross. I don't normally tend to comment on videos, but I have been following you for some time now, and having watched this hour long master class the other week, I bought your Beyond Pentatonic book. I have to say, I don't think I have ever studied a book on blues soloing that has been so well written and so accessible. What you say just makes sense. What really comes across is the true feeling that this is a journey you have made yourself and so learnt from. You have a way of putting things and explaining things that just really comes from the heart of your own experience and development. I recommend the book and excellent painstakingly made video/mp3 accompaniments to anyone who is serious about getting better at the blues. Thank you!
Hello. Im a second year guitar student, recently purchased your book. Thanks for writing it. I was playing better after only a few a hours of practicing its content. I was finally able to understand how to play ‘out of the box’.
Hey, Ross ~ Your lessons are absolutely great. The first one I worked through was the one on playing the pentatonic scales through the circle of fourths from a single position, and now this one. Both brilliant, no filler, not a wasted minute or note. Also I just got your book from Amazon and downloaded all the backing tracks. I also saw your video about how you've recently gotten into acoustic bluegrass, and I'm sort of meeting you going the other direction: I've spent my whole life playing acoustic guitar (mostly for songwriting, with a bit of bluegrass style picking in recent years) but less than a year ago I decided to try my hand at electric guitar … and I am having a great time learning a whole new style of picking. Thank you SO much!!
Thanks for shining a light on your thought processes. Really good.
I am glad that many people find this usefull sadly for me not so much.
i am at a stage where flat this 4 chord here and 5 chord there is gibberish i would of loved it to be a little more beginner friendly even though i have played for years i never understood theory much and this sadly didnt help either.
thanks for putting this out though maybe sometime later i will understand this
Great lesson. I bought the book. Been working on dominant 7 arpeggios. I think having those in muscle memory is going to be a tremendous help
That's how you teach. Thanks
Well done indeed, Excellent video Ross.
Honestly these are the best lessons I've seen, been playing for decades
BY FAR one of the most comprehensive and succint tutorials on how to accent chord tones for blues progression. I've been trying to understand this concept for most of my life and you single handedly explained it in such a easy manner. Thanks Ross. You're a G.
Just learn 2 bb king songs and your good or two albert king songs and youll be on your way
Love than Augmentation on the turnaround
This minor/major third that happens in major blues is something interesting happening in dominant chords. My understanding is that these chords are root-major third-flat seventh. All other notes are allowed. Mixolydian is the less tense scale for this chord, but all alterations come well (not for blues, that has a particular accent). But take a dominant 7th chord and you can use flat 9, sharp 9, flat 5, sharp 5, even major 7th with caution. You can use flat 9 flat 13 and you have dominant phrygian, etc. dominant 7th chords are a fun playground.
Amazing video – so articulate! Book is getting ordered!
This is great, I've been so bored with my own playing and needed to spice it up a bit. Those passing tones are already doing the job after about 15 minutes of noodling around.
Maybe the best breakdown of this kind of blues music!…
Isn't serendipity a wonderful thing? A forum discussion on digital amp modelling led me to discover Neural DSP. A search for plugins for one their amp sims led to a video by Ross on which I really liked his playing as well as the plug-ins and that led me to this Masterclass and the book. Probably the best hour of watching YouTube I've ever spent and the book with it's accompanying videos/mp3s is quite simply a steal at about the price of a pint of heavy for the Kindle edition.
I am exactly the stuck-in-a-pentatonic-rut-for-decades player this is aimed at and whilst I've seen the idea of targeting chord notes spoken about before by the likes of Jack Ruch and others, it's never been explained so fully and with an approach I'm confident I can follow and learn from.
This young man is both a talented player and a gifted teacher. Best Class I ever took and I'm 68!
Brilliant
A good lesson TBH
Your lesson convinced me to purchase book. Looking forward to diving into it
Great ????????
Wow you got that it????
I do love this masterclass and the book! Which string gauge would you recommend? Do your teaching work for a more traditional sound, such as a Sun Records or a Chicago Blues? I am an old man, and I started playing the Blues back in the ''60s. Thanks so much for your book, which will keep me busy for many decades… 🙂
Foarte bine ,foarte frumos .Felicitari !
Thanks for Your work for us!
Turnaround Licks Targeting Major 3rds: 16:57

I’ve been playing for over 30 years and this would be one of the best lessons I have come across.
The book is great too, if you got a lot from this lesson I highly recommend the book to take your learning even further.
Great work Ross!
