[New Amp Day] Precious Tones Amps – Zircon

https://www.precioustones.ch/zircon

There it is, Precious Tones Amps Zircon, the best amp I’ve ever played (you’ve read that dozens of time I know) but it’s honestly true, it’s the best amp I’ve ever played. 70w of pure power, tooooons of dynamic, sonic wonders and tone possibilities.

Specs :

· A pair of 6550 and a solid state rectifier, 2x 12ax7 and 2x 12at7

Front plate :

· Rough knob (magic button)

· An incredible master volume that really keep the sound alive (I never thought I’d say that one day)

· Of course, a lush and huge tube driven spring reverb

· Standard EQ (Treble, Middle, Bass) + 3 switches on the front plate (a 3 positions treble switch, a 2 positions low switch and a last one called Blues that add some drive and fatness)

Back plate :

· A 3 positions knob that allow you to navigate from a more tamed and vintage/blackface sound to a big, wild tone & feel

· A 2/4/8 ohms impedance selector to make possible the use of your terrifying EVM10M or JBL e110 4×10 cab ????

· A 3 positions negative feedback switch to change the amp’s feel and dynamic

· A digital bias screen and adjuster to control and adjust your tubes voltage with a simple screwdriver

· A penthode (normal use) and adjustable Hi-fi (ultra linear) switch to go from a traditional tube amp behaviour to something more linear and, well, Hi-fi (very interesting thing to try if you ask me)

· Finally, a High & Low voltage switch, to travel from a more soft and vintage feel to the percussive/dynamic modern zone.

  • Your playing is insane. The inspiration of Phillip is there, you are probably the only one I have seen play like this, on the same shelf where Philip is, a special one. Bravo!!!

  • I know you are very inspired by SRV. So I would be very interested to see you do a review on some Strat size lipstick pickups like SRV’s Charley Strat. I’m very interested in them myself and there isn’t a lot of videos on them. And you would be the perfect person to review them.

  • This amp sounds killer, and your playing and tone always inspires me to play guitar right away.
I really want to order this amp but global shipping is so expensive ????
And I wonder the sound difference between 4×10 vs 2×12 speakers with Zircon!! Can you take this video soon?

  • Sounds like a Custom by Cougar amp (Mother PS70 and X59) with a few more bells and whistles, which is to say it sounds great.

  • Man, that amp sounds great! You really can play brother!! Man, there is no Blues like the Psychedelic Blues!! Gotta to me my favorite music along with Psychedelic Funk! Both of which James Marshall Hendrix had a HUGE hand in forming!! I guess that is why Jimi Hendrix is not only my favorite guitarist, he is my favorite musician, followed by Curtis Mayfield, George Clinton/Parliament Funkadelic, James Brown, Bootsy Collins, and last but certainly not least, Ice-T along with his rap career also the awesome music he did with Body Count.

  • Fantastic. The tone is like a bell, but there’s an edge on the notes that really shines when you dig in on the attack.

  • Awesome tones man. Could you do a video comparing the Sapphire and the Zircon? Would love to hear the differences and which gets closer to the gnarly sayce tones.

  • Incredible versatility! The Blues switch gives it a cranked tweed sound to my ears. The Rough knob is a great thing too for extra gain staging and feel.
If the options were footswitchable you probably wouldn’t need any gain pedals at all, crazy good amp!

  • God damn… You could get some real live at carnegie hall tones outta that. Awesome playing. Wish i could play collins shuffle through that thing

  • Sounds like my dream amp, but it's crazy expensive. After VAT and taxes, it's right around 5000 usd, where I live. On top of that, I'd need to buy a cabinet. Too much money for a bedroom warrior.
