i just ordered this guitar, because i was looking for an affordable hardtail baritone, great fucking demo video! i cant wait for it to arrive now! ????
this. riff. rocks.
I have been looking at this guitar among the other alternatives, like there is a couple of Ibanez baritones, one around this guitars pricepoint, then there is a LTD and then there is a Harley Benton Amarok baritone that seriously looks like really good value for the money, also comes with a Neck through construction like with this Jackson guitar which I really like, then the Harley Benton guitar comes with Active EMG Retro 70 pickups, Stainless steel frets, locking-tuners and graphite nut, I mean for 600$ that is just A LOT of guitar for the money, if you can live with that the brand says Harley Benton then I think you could be really amazed with that guitar. I am considering it along with this Jackson and the similar costing Ibanez anyways.
What makes me unsure about this Jackson is that if I am going to buy a Baritone I want it to be a "real" baritone, I mean 26.5" scale length is not that much more than standard 25.5. The Ibanez Baritone is 28" scale length and the Harley Benton Amarok BT is 27".
This Jackson with 26.5" Scale length would mean that I would have to buy thicker strings if I would like to play newer Meshuggah 8-string stuff and keep a tight tension on the strings just for example.
On a 28" scale length I could go with thinner strings while keeping more tension. I mean if I want to play stuff in like drop C like some do on Baritones I would just put a bit thicker strings on my 25.5" standard scale Schecter guitar and be done with it. If I am buying a baritone it will be to play 7-string and 8-string stuff, sacrificing a brighter string to get a much thinner neck right ?
Or at least that is why I am buying a baritone. I tried 7 and especially 8 string guitars but I mostly play riffs and some brighter fast licks but almost never any super-fast lead-solos and I do not like how wide and confusing a 8 string neck gets compared to 6 string necks that I have mainly played. So I want to buy a baritone to be able to downtune from brightest Periphery stuff Drop C bust mostly much lower like their F# tunings. I think that would be awesome on a thin 6 string neck but I think for stuff like that a 27-28" Scale would suit it better. I might be wrong though 🙂
is this guitar neck heavy?
Tuning?
wow great mix! Thanks for the review 🙂
I have a pair of devin townsend fishmans, and wonder if it would work with this guitar.
You sent me at "Tone knobs are dumb and I hate them" ????. Something I've always thought but never been brave enough to say out loud.
Appreciate the review. Currently researching baritones to add as a tool to my studio.
Hello there AJ! I came to your video because I’m trying to find a good option to play my favorite band’s (The Warning) songs from their new album, Keep Me Fed.
Dany, the guitarist and singer, is using two customized Fender baritone guitars so I’m trying to figure out which option is good for my as I’m going to do it only for fan purpose: a baritone guitar or a 7-string. What are the main differences to consider before buying? Thank you in advance! ????????⚡️
With the whole intonation related issues, yes, its a scale length related issue. For B flat (A#) the ideal scale length is 28 inches.
why his shirt have the soundgarden symbol on it but some other band name?
squire isnt even a real guitar lmfao
It looks gorgeous, but I’m not sure about an U$D1k for a made in china guitar
Darn plastic nuts.
Would you say that d standard would be an alright tuning for this guitar?
Sick shirt
Glad you demoed this beast of a guitar!
So from the way you talk about it, I'm guessing going from a 25.5 to this, is not that big of a deal, right?
What tuning does it come in stock. D standard with 10-46? Or B standard with heavier strings
Bro that solo was murderous. Also thanks for posting this video I am very closely eyeballing a used one at my local shop – it's such a good price and I don't particularly care for 7 strings. Much appreciated. ????
Why can’t we get a baritone with a reverse headstock?!
I have the same intonation problem, every spring is completely squeezed to maxmum far position and I am almost right regarding intonation. Guitar sounds great but i am at maximum far settings to getting it in tune. Also do you know which good tuners fit the head ?
Is there a specific reason you went with a h1 over something like a h3 or 4?
This guitar is incredibly comfortable! I love it so much, everything feels super smooth! I did some upgrades although for the price I paid for this one I would’ve rather not having to do any upgrades but still, now my guitar is pretty much perfect for my play style
Badass jam and review!
Check ur string break angle on the bridge for ur lowest string. Should be parallel to ur bridge.
i hope jackson figures the intonation out for the next run of these. i love the simplicity of this guitar. almost ended up buying one in a drunken stupor but held off because my ocd would mess with me too much with the intonation issue.
Dudr sick demo. Mines being shipped this week :). Can't wait to play it and learb my Invisions Guitar Tab book. Do you think 60's will fit? ????????????
It’s just metal bro, not death this and that core????????????
The reason I wanted to watch the review of this guitar is because of thr emg's haha
Thank you for the review!
THIS IS A CRAP VIDEO FOR A DEMONSTRATION OF THE GUITAR!
ACTUALLY, HE DIDN'T!
DIDN'T HEAR THE GUITAR BY ITSELF!
IT WAS A SOUND TRACK OF A BAND!
Very nice. Did I hear some "In The Desert" inspiration?
Agreed with the plastic nuts. Seriously how much is a graphite nut. All guitars should come with it no matter the price
Hey Bro….nice review! What tuning do you play? Cheers Olli
I bought this guitar about 6 months ago. It is awesome. Added locking tuners but that’s it. Had to drill out the hole in one to fit the thick low E string. Question: what string gauge do you guys use? I just changed to Ernie Ball Baritone Slinky’s .13 to .72. They seem a little too thick though. Thoughts?
Picking mine up tomorrow. Thanks for the review, really helped me decide on the purchase.
great review. bad intonation is a dealbreaker for me
what gauge strings are you using?
What tuning are you in?
great video as always mr brown
