I bought my Fender Blues Deluxe Reissue after i saw your review on one. Ive had it hot rodded too.
Fender amp design is terrible and the company stopped caring about quality. These amps and the blues jrs, hot rod deluxes, princetons all the new ones don’t last long because they have the hot parts way too close to sensitive parts that burn and get damaged. They sound great until they stop working and it costs you the price of the amp again to fix.

I found a Tone King Gremlin used for the price of one of these Champs. It’s 5 watts, but it’s a different beast.
These are like a low volume Princeton. If you find the Princeton too loud for home use this is perfect. It also can play loud and break up nicely. Only think missing is spring reverb but the hall sounds really nice.

Spring reverb?
I just built a Robrob deluxe. Which is a slightly modified 5E3 circuit. Sounds fantastic! I also have a stand alone Reverb Unit I use with it.
Have to say, it's nice to have something that is not too loud. Yet still sounds incredible.
My 1st amp was a non vibro Champ from the 70s. It was a throw in with my 1st electric because it was 'worthless' i think I paid $20 and sold it for $30 a few years later in the mid 90's. Man how I wish I still had that amp.
Not all tube/valve. Solid state rectifier, unlike the 68 original. Digital reverb.
Sadly, the amp broke down right after these videos. It's a huge shame, so I had to take it back. That said, the tones are fantastic.
