Max Rehbein (aka Dorincourt) joins us for a guest video, showing you how to create an aggressive, hard hitting dubstep bass. Using the standard Reason devices, learn how to really get your sound to roar by using effects and how to make it sit well in the mix.
After this, you’ll be able to make that love-it-or-hate-it dirty wobble bass we all know!

This beat is sick AF.
RIP legend
@4:35 the bass sounds quite exquisite!
It's all calculated! Are you actually hearing the sound?
Very informative, thanks for this
Mine sounded incredibly high pitched although I followed all of the steps, does anyone know why or have any guesses as to why it's sounding like that?
Very good idea!
What is the name of the track? Was it released somewhere or not?
I wish he created a patch so I could play with it a little lol
Thanx!
First of all this is an amazing riff you wrote there. Thanks so much for your tutorial, it seems that reason has excellent capabilities.
Really cool tutorial, thanks! hope will be more coming.
Sound name?
I get this horrible squeaky overtone on the distortion, I have followed the tutorial exactly and i know that the guy in this tutorial (Dorincourt) has all his devices start with initialised patches, which I have done too…. can anybody help? it sounds the same right until I add the Scream 4, even though it has identical settings.
What was the note/note type that you used?
Very cool tutorial! Thanx! 🙂
I love this patch.
YES!! Have been wanting to know how to do this forever, thank you, thank you!
Dubstep, Trap,…. I wonder what will be the next trend.
Thanks for this great dub-step tutorial
That's not bass. That was white noise. Sounded like shit.
It's not letting me place my automation anchor points with the pen after I alt ckick my freq any ideas ?
"Let's start from scratch, and build the patch!" I don't know why I find that Funny..
Anyways, great Tutorial!
where do i get the notation
your tutorial was well put together, informational, and easy to follow! thank you so much for sharing with us!! have you done a tutorial on how to pan music left and right to give it a dynamic/moving sound?
How do I get rid of the sub bass reverb/delay from the synth?
Great tips
That break tho! 0:35
That has to be one of the sickest dubstep songs I've ever heard! please let me download that! where can I go.
Sounds like dj hanzel
What's the program called
i did everything the same but when i add the scream4, i get a totally different sound than in this video. it makes it TOO fuzzy and it sounds better with the scream patch initialized. why is this???
Why when I do the tutorial the sound doesn't sounds the same?
It sounds shitty
Sick!!!
I am doing everything your're doing but i am not hearing any sound am i suppose to put notes in before or something if so please direct me to a video that can show me how please … i am new to reason
I've had the same problem
Dorincourt! Never fails to please !
This Max guy is my hero.
so ive been having trouble with my bass when putting it all together its clashing and and making the bass have a cracking sound that doesent go with the song im working on any advice?
that song is bad ass man, where can i find a DL of the entire track?
How to add that note clips?
I just got the program, and ive looked through almost every button and menu and I can't figure out how you got the notes at 1:18 I drew the notes with the pencil thing but they don't make any noise when I play it. What else do I do to make them play sound.
its basically the same thing with all synths. start with the oscillator. wobbles come from frequency filter and is modulated by an LFO usually. but in this case hes doing it with automation.
does anybody happen to know how to translate this into Fruity Loops?
What you say at 0:39 should be Peason's pitch: "Let's start from scratch and build a patch."
Not working. Sound has way too much squeeks. Anyone help me? I did exactly the same as this tutorial said.
hey peeps thanks for the help but i already got it i just put wavs i made into redrum and pump it 😛 works perfect.
i will try all the other variations as well and i already did the oscillating thing but you cant do that with all tones deepends on the modulation. cause i dont always make tones that work as machinegun bass or whatever you wanna call it
Thank God for this video. Just helped me finish this amazing beat for a song.
