Alrighty thennow that we know the basic blues chord progression and how to read and follow a basic chord chart let’s talk about different grooves, or styles of music. Its one of the wonderful things about music that the same thing can be played and interpreted in so many different ways, and convey totally different feelings.
So lets start out playing example #2 with a straight 8ths groove. Straight 8ths means that we will be playing a steady stream of 8th notes with no syncopation. Well start just pumping out the root and then use the pentatonic scale to construct a bass line that will certainly sound familiar. Let your fingers do the walkin!

Learn major scales. once you learn them, the pattern applies anywhere on the fretboard. Just google major scales for bass guitar and you will probably get tons of results back showing you how to play them. Then learn a pentatonic scale and hey presto. Bass lines like this are a walk in the park
He uses a combination of C (3rd fret on the A string) F (1st fret on the E string) and G (3rd Fret on the E string) and 'chugs' away on these in Eighths. He then uses the pentatonic of the major scales of these notes (learn major scales, the pattern is simple) and plays these an octave higher before going back to the 'chug'. Hope this helps
he expects you to already have watched a previous video about scales, so he's just playing in the scale.

You're right… it's "eighths". There is such a thing as an "eighth note"… and "eighths" would just be a way to describe multiple (or plural) eighth notes.
