  • I've got over a hundred saved YT video subscriptions, mostly guitar related, the visual production of your work and how you demo gear is second to none in my opinion………good to have you back and look forward to each and every video you produce. Would love to see you demoing the HeadRush Prime sometime in the future.

  • Thanks for your honest review on this unit, helped me make my mind up on which one I wanted

  • This was exactly what I need to hear. I have the Podgo, HX Stomp, HX Effects and the Tonex One. This seemed like it might be a single box that put all those things together. I do play abmient and your thoughts are that were also what I needed to know. Thanks for your insights!

  • The outputs are TRS balanced and are identical in sound quality to XLRs. Just bring along a couple of XLR to TRS adapters to a gig be on the safe side, but as far as sound quality – no difference at all.

  • Nice overview However, I don't agree with everything;
I don't get it, The TRS outputs are balanced, so exactly the same as a balanced XLR output, just in a smaller package.. If needed, you can use a simple TRS to XLR adapter cable..
    The LT version seems to be exactly right for me;
    – The 100 is too small (too few foot switches and too small screen, no balanced output)
    – The 200 is too big (It needs to fit the front pocket of my guitar bag, and a expression pedal I don't need and I don't need 8 foot switches either)
    – The 200JR could be a good option; Regular XLR outputs is nice, but one switch less than the LT and an expression pedal which I don't need at all.
    – The 200LT seems to have everything, even a hair smaller footprint than the JR (even has MIDI). Only downside would be the adapter cable I occasionally need. (My bands backline is rigged permanently, so there will always be a TRS cable (as well as a 9V cable and a 6.3mm jack from the Sennheiser EW300 wireless receiver to go to the input of the Valeton)

  • The price is great …..not a lot of margin when you’re selling great items at that price… brother …. So your prices will be pretty close on the upper models …… ????

  • Can I save those free patches to those 4 stomp on the front so that I can just press them if I wanted a clean or a dirty sound?

  • This is why I went for the lite version. For me, the two extra expression inputs are a big plus. I get to connect an expression pedal, and an ampero switch on the other.

And I agree with you on the IR. The built in IRs are probably not the best. But usable. I used an external IR and it sounded better. I do have to activate the EQ block because without it, it sounds so thin. I use this Valeton GP200LT mostly on live gigs. And so far, it didn't disappoint. Thank you for this video. A proper, straight forward review.

  • The Valeton is a great piece of kit at half the price of a Helix. If you are just a hobbyist guitar player it will do everything you need and then some. Some people are avid knob twiddlers who never ever come up with a half way decent tune and hide behind a wall of distortion and effects. The Valeton is loaded with excellent sounds including very useable jazz guitar and acoustic simulations as well as the usual over egged distortion for the wannabe dayglo Lycra clad rock god in the back bedroom stage.

  • I it possible to use one output without cab sim and the other output with capsim IR. Because that would be ideal for live playing when having one output staight into an amp and the other output straight into the DI> mixing desk.

  • i am searching an modeler for my worship rig . but it requires lot of ambient swells and s u said it lacks in ambient territory . would u still recommend gp 200 (flag ship ) to me. will have same limitation

  • I've been getting back in guitar over the last year after not playing for a decade. I just upgraded to a Marshall DSL40c, and i picked one of these up for under $200. I dont care so much about the modeling, I'm basically using it for the effects as I dont have the money to build a proper pedal board at the moment. I need to spend more time with it, but so far, I havent been able to find a mix of compression, chorus, and delay that's better than just "good enough". I think my next move will be to try to run it through the effects loop on the amp, instead of directly into the input.
    Do you have any advice?

  • Bro can you clear my one doubt? Which one should i get between Valetone GP 200 and Mooer ge200?

Or which one do you think is better between these two?

  • Great video, thanx a lot????

I connected my gp200 to a bluguitar amp1 iridium and i would like to send midi messages to the amp1 in order to change the amp channels. Amp1 listens on midi channel1. I set up the gp200 to send midi messages on midi channel 1, then on omni but the gp200 does not send any messages. Do you know how to set up the gp200 midi settings so that i can control any midi device listening on channel one? I spent a few hours to figure it out but unfortunately no luck????

Can you possibly help me to solve that problem?

  • I could buy this second hand but I m not sure the looper is convenient enough to use in a one man band situation live. Let s say I m playing a song and I want to put some solo in the middle but I have to carefully push 2 buttons at once to get into the looper, than another button n to get out to be able to turn on a distortion or booster. Is there a 1 button looper option in it? Thank you

  • I think having the FX loop as well as balanced outputs in this unit makes it much better than the 100. You can place the FX send/reurns at any points in the signal chain, this give the addition routing options and the balanced TRS does away with the need to purchase a seperate DI. Just buy a 30cm TRS to XLR and youve got something to hand the live engineer.

Thx for the vid, I'd love to see you experiment with the extra routing capabilities the loop gives. Im really thinking about buying this and putting a Tonex pedal in the loop and using that as the main amp sound, the Tonex also has more outputs so it could be routed to an onstage amp or IEM.

  • Really enjoy your honest format of what works and what doesn't. That's so much more valuable to the viewer than the standard shill reviews that permeate YouTube.

  • Hi James. So if I want to go from a clean sound to a distortion sound on 1 patch that isn’t possible with this unit and does the full version with the expression pedal have this same issue or is it just the lite version ?. Thanks

huh? XLR output and balanced outputs FUNCTION the same they just have different connectors.
Hot, cold, a ground which are 3 pins using a CANON OR TRS jack!
Absolutely, this video has made a mistake. He doesnt even know what balanced outputs are

  • Isn't XLR are "bad" type of connection for the guitar?
Because of introduction of the mixer preamp to the chain, when using XLR connections to the pult with the sound engineers, in the wild.

  • I actually don't like USB C for devices that have the space for USB B. USB B is much more robust over many cycles of connecting and disconnecting. USB C tends to get loose.

  • I wanted to get the GP200. However I got the LT version due to the taxes to import to Brazil. I got mine in a deal for about 190USD(the GP200 was about 330 at the time). I saw in recent reviews that the LT wasn't being taxed at customs here, so that was my choice (the taxes for the gp200 was about 370brl). It was an amazing upgrade from the Mooer ge150 I was using!
Nice video mate! I'll check and test your IR here!

  • As far as i remember Devin Townsend has a dedicated gear unit for his ambient stuff from Mooer ("Ocean Machine") which massive functionality is doubtful to incapsulate into budget fx processor )

  • Thanks for the review. Not sure lack of XLRs is such a big deal when you have balanced TRS outs. A couple of adapters and problem solved. Balanced outs is a significant improvement over the GP100 I reckon.

  • Ok this is scary, I was looking at some cheap modellers on Amazon when I got the notification. Great points I’d say and I’m in agreement with all of it, have you seen the Zoom G6? Ive been eyeing that one and think it’d be right up your alley (at least based on the carbon fibre chassis) when it comes to aesthetics and tones (from what I’ve heard, sound demos are never consistent IMO), keep up the good work!
