Seriously though its insane how good plug ins have got over the years. Especially the synth and reverb ones. Even amp sims are getting better.

Pre-watch: airwindows has the best collection of free plugins if you don't care about UI. Tape emulations, infinite reverbs, weird filters, modulation, plus dozens of misc. effects based on discontinued hardware or strange coding behaviour. There's even a third-party version called Airwindows Consolidated that bundles them all into a single plugin with the website blurb explaining what each one does.
