Cort B4 Plus AS RM and B5 Plus AS RM | Review
Dan Veall reviews the B4 Plus AS RM and B5 Plus AS RM from Cort Guitars. Featuring Cort’s latest material innovation in the Artisan Series as seen and heard through the “RM” roasted maple fingerboard. The maple has been treated in an oxygen-free oven at a high temperature, stabilizing the wood for a bigger, bolder tone while also developing its golden-brown look for the vintage appeal. Dan tells us more.

Superb review!
Cort b5 plus ASRM or Cort B5 element which is better
El mástil de uno que compré tenía 2 pequeños orificios, cerca de 1 milímetro de diámetro, parecía de termitas, tuve que devolverlo a la tienda, a alguien le ha ocurrido con este modelo de bajo?
One of the first reviews on this bass that actually play it in passive mode, thanks much & as always another great review by you ????????
i like this detailed review. all bass reviews should be like this.
Fantastic video — thank you
" *giggle* ribbed.. "
this vid was extremely informative. thanks a ton! think i might get one in red!
Nice to have a reviewer that doesn't trash the modern look and just prays the vintage designs.
Hate. Yes I said it. Hate those vintage snob reviewers that make people feel like owning anything other than vintage basses or guitars with vintage configurations and designs some type of a sin.
Personally hate the vintagey designs with stupidly large and clunky headstock, uselessly large tunners, and stupidly huge necks. Just clunky and ugly and outdated and uncomfortable to play. Not unplaiable but uncomfortable.
But I will say no problem with others loving the vintage looks and designs. Unlike those vintage snobs.
I have B4 ASRM for several months and few days ago I've complemented it with B5 – here are clips:
B4 ASRM: https://youtu.be/nvTdCO-61pY , https://youtu.be/Vi3MGZudPLw
B5 ASRM: https://youtu.be/t64pvurX50I , https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wemk5pFermA
Although bass is patched through serveral pedals (mentioned in description) its timbre is still quite noticeable
I wonder how the Cort B5 Plus ASRM compares to the more expensive Cort A5 Plus. After all, the A5 doesn't have that roasted wood.
It's nice to see detailed review of it. I've bought B4 about a month ago, and it's awesome (you can see and hear it in my videos). It's very ergonomic and weight balanced, and wood specs add some special taste to it, both aesthetically and musically. Sound is on the snappier side I'd say, but I like it that way. It has only two downsides in my opinion. One is that, when you disengage the preamp, none of the knobs serve as the passive tone pot, so you have to tweak it additionally somewhere afterwards. The other is that its matte finish becomes "polished" relatively easily (at least the black one that I own) – I've made a glossy spot above pickup with my thumb in a first few days of playing. Otherwise, it's really a great intrument, it really feels like a solid-built instrument in hands (mine 4-string weighs 4,35 kilos, but I like it), construction wise and finish wise it appears way above its price range, and I really love how those MK1 Barts sound on it. I also own a 5 string Ibanez SR305 which wieghs 3,45 kilos (0,9 less than B4), but to me it feels much more fragile compared to this one, has relatively bad weight balance in comparison , and I'm considering selling it and getting B5 instead.
I just got the B4 and was really surprised that it lives up to all the hype. it plays and sounds great!
This Bass Cort is Amazing I Ask a question.Cort B5 plus AsRm or Sirve v7 2do generation which is the better.
Now I really want one
Awesome review… Love these Corts but I've become partial to Delano pups and pre amps after being an EMG fanatic for a few decades of using them exclusively.
You remember the small-bodies Ibanez 5-strings from the late 80's? Very small head-stock as well.
ASMR?
