Fuzz or Overdrive? Which is best with a Uni-Vibe? THERMION POWERDRIVE
In this video, I demonstrate the sonic differences between running a Vibe pedal with a fuzz versus and overdrive pedal. Many make the claim that a Vibe is meant to be used with a Fuzz pedal only. I find this claim to be a bit too overly authoritative, and baseless. So, in this video I try and show the typical way that many guitar players use these types of pedals, versus something less Hendrix/Trower in approach.
I’m running through the Thermion Freeway amp, known for its amp-like response and exceptional clarity. The guitar that I am using is a Fender Telecaster.
This demo is all about sound—no talking, just tone. If you’re curious about how Powervibe differs from the a chorus, phaser or tremolo, or want to hear how the Powervibe stacks up in a real-world setup, this one’s for you.

???? Only use a Uni-Vibe with fuzz??
Let me know in the comments! I think that this circuit, despite closely tied-in with late 60's Blues/Rock, is capable of far more than most give it credit for.
Signal chain:
Danelectro U2 → Jet Pedals Lion→ Thermion Powertrem → Thermion Freeway Amp/ Fender Stratocaster → DOD Carcosa → Thermion Powertrem → Thermion Freeway Amp

Wouldn't it be some kind of sacrilege to Clapton and Blind Faith era if we said it can only be used with fuzz? I also like it with wah and overdrive.
