My junior high P.E. teacher: Perfect practice makes perfect
Is this pedal tracking low E well? ????
I tried it but flew upside down

There is quite a retro sound on this record – I’d love to hear someone interpret it on a Wal Bass for instance.
I love this guy
WE DUA !!!
Amazing interview
O.m.g. such a badass . Hats off brother.
What a great dude!
It's not free if I have to sign up for marketing emails.
Hey Guys,
There is incredible cover of this song by talented bassist, here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-wKJZVgftSk – I am sure you will be amazed by her groovy performance and sick tricks !
Have a lovely day ! 🙂
5:00 That's a wrecking crew riff, no? Carol Kaye from…?
Edit: These Boots are Made for Walkin' outro
not a bassist but the BASS is awesome.
What do you guys think of afro jazz fusion…try breaking down Ayo by BeeCeeMoh… the bass parts are mind boggling
It's fun to see REEEELY knowledgeable people doin' their thang.
try something cool like cold heart.
Great to watch a pro learn a song. Check out Susi Lotter at Thomann doing this song.
Eh thought its John Entwistle ????????
His bass guitar sounds so good!
I have a Pocket full of nuggets now.
why does the song, bass and/or overall, remind me of something by Jamiroquai?
Practice doesn’t make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect. High school football coach.
Brilliant!!!
For once our drum parts are easy as fudge on this. A basic four on the floor is the basis.
VOLUME KNOBS AND TONE TURNED DOWN A BIT. Great lesson.
This is getting click-baity… Not putting the guys name in the title or the thumbnail, and using an "unrelated" P-bass in the thumbnail that just happens to look very much like the one Pino Palladino is known for using. Oh, Pino also used to play bass for The Who? What are the odds?!?
Also sucks for Jon Button that a not insignificant amount of people will click thinking they got Pino on and leaving when they realize it's "just" Jon Button. The guy's a beast—there shouldn't be any need to trick people into clicking.
You got the job
"Practice makes permanent"… I'm taking that for my students when I am teaching fundamental driving techniques. I tell them that these boring basics don't matter in a corner at 80 MPH, but they REALLY matter in that same corner at 110 MPH. There is a reason that NFL linemen still practice their footwork, steps they have taken 1,000,000 times (literally). I wish I had heard that advice when I was learning bass in the 80's 🙂
Nice!! Love the chords.
In the Philippines we do this every day…2 or more songs everytime
Dua Lipa… still not convinced she actually exists. She looks and sounds like a pure concoction of AI.
That pedal tracks really well, as in lose E-string. Ouch! Can only be done with a great bass without tons of overtones.
So cool Scott had Skrillex on with Jon.
The Who`s bassist? The Who is John Entwhistle. Anyone else is just someone that can play
Practice Makes Consistent.
Practice doe NOT make permanent. You can relearn something correctly and then consistently repeat it correctly.
Therefore, practice makes consistent.
it takes 7 seconds to learn Dua Lipas whole catalogue
Sorta close up of her Bassist Matty Carroll https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F4neLJQC1_E
suggestion box: when the guest is playing their take, fewer reaction shots of the hosts. your faces are pretty and all, but we're here for the bass.
This man gives golden advices for sure!
A lot of this music is done on DAWs not really played on an instrument. I don't know if you can really compare the two.
Mr. Button in not only an accomplished bassist, but a great learner. And teacher, 'cause this dude did just teach me how to learn music faster. This episode was better than expected (and my expectations were high). Thank you all for sharing this knowledge. ????
