Thanks for doing such an in-depth review! This is the most I've been able to find about Crab Amps (besides their Instagram page). Also, I highly recommend getting a noise gate. I put it off for a long time but – when I finally got one – all I could think was "I should have bought this a long time ago." Lastly, I really like how you play – great riffs????
a year ago i had the crab d-vence based on vht, bought it used from Daniel at Lichtlaerm Audio, it was soo sick amp, however i don´t really use real amps anymore.
There one on kijiji in my town , base on the rockerverb, I don’t recall the name , but it’s 40watts, and it wine red. I’m going to see it today. The gentleman asking for 450$. I’m in Canada so it seems a good price. Can’t wait to hear it.????????????????

If I had a grand to spare, I would absolutely get a Crab, between the versatility and the choice of amps themselves it feels crazy not to! Excellent video, my only complaint is not having a view of the NFB knob during the demonstration but sometimes you just gotta use your ears lol. Looking forward to what's next with 5k!

This amp is very interesting. Is it possible to reduce the hum with a noise suppressor (Boss NS-2), a noice blocker (Joyo ZGP) or a noice gate ( Silencer Elektro Harmonix?
Is the hum/noice coming from the power section?
When u change channels, do u hear a "pop" noise?

I have a 3 channel one coming next week.
Willing to bet if you added a steel mesh screen to the back to cover the tubes, a lot of the noise would go away. Fancier amps tend to try to shield the tubes from interference and that is one way I've seen.
Just find some steel mesh at your home improvement store, cut it to fit, spray paint it and attach it in back. Crab should consider adding that as a standard part though imo. My valveking 100 is a noisy mess without that mesh cover on the back, and my Laney iron heart 60 was too, and it uses the same power transformer type as the crab.
