  • I just used mine for the first time today at church. For years I’ve ran my pedalboard through a Blues Jr and always was pleased with it and actually just recently starting running it through a Two Notes Captor 8 and that was spectacular until I started getting digital distortion and signal loss. Up until recently, I had said “I’ll never go the way of amp modelers(Helix, Quad Cortex, etc) but recently was forced to run my pedalboard into a QC(using a neural capture of a Fender amp as my amp) and was blown away with how good it sounded and then I heard a demo of the Dream 65 and was blown away! I’ve always gravitated towards vintage Fenders and loved hearing the tone the boppers got back in the 60s.
Now I have a much simpler direct rig. Was wonderful!

  • The only rookie mistake I see is that PRS wanabe strat. Put that thing put it in the fireplace and get yourself a G&L

  • Fake Fender AMP with a Fake Fender Strat lol Everyone still just doing Fender and Gibson in other ways. Gotta love it haha

  • I think they sampled the best sounding Deluxe they could find. For some reason I remember it an amp at Sunset Sound (or something like that).

  • Leo designed the amp for the guitarists of the time, who were playing flatwound strings that were 12 – 13 gauge, and who did not want any distortion. That's why they sound bright with modern roundwound strings 9 – 10 gauge.

  • Deluxe Reverb actually is one of my top favorite amps, along with the Pro Reverb, and Tweed Deluxe, maybe Tweed Bassman.

  • I've had this pedal for over a year and really REALLY love it, but I'm so glad I watched this video cos I didn't realize to the extent that the boost cuts the bass and treble in the heavy Texas Stevie mode, although yes of course I heard it, I was left thinking that my bass knob wasn't working properly when I tried to roll it back, and now I see I must've had the boost up high on those occasions.

  • I’m curious as to where this would sit in the chain of a pedal board. I’m a total noob when it comes to this stuff. I use a compression pedal a tube screamer and occasionally a fuzz(rarely but it’s there). How would this pedal work with those if I wanted the 65 DR sound without the hefty price?

  • Great job on this demo Tom ! Too many times I watch demos that spend two minutes on clean sound (which is all I use) and then go into distortion /OD mode and play everything else in that mode which teaches nothing about the pedal and I have to move on ! THIS WAS GREAT ! I no longer bring my amps to gigs and just use the Dream 65 which I am always told sounds “PRISTINE” through my Bose PRO8 ! Of course when gigging one hour shows like I am doing about 20 times monthly it is so much easier not having a 40 Lb amp to move anymore as PA , guitars , cables, mic and music stands etc… is enough already !????????

  • As soon as I ended the video, placed my ord for the pedal, Thanks man! you cleared out several doubts that i had!

  • I wasted 300 dollars on this box. It sucks. It's extremely expensive and a waste of money. Be warned. Spend your money on getting a good sound, the Dream65 isn't it. Sorry.

  • Hate the headstock design of PRS. It looks like it belongs to a different guitar. Just play a Fender for half the price. Or build a custom stratocaster for a quarter of what you paid for that PRS.

  • Hi Tom, Most often I play jazz and standards, so I usually play straight into an amplifier and mic it when necessary. I use the Dream pedal in church where everything goes straight to the board and it works great and takes pedals well. A few months ago, I had to travel for a gig and there was not going to be any backline gear so I took the Dream with me. I loved the sound I was hearing from the monitors and got lots of compliments about my tone. I have since built a pedal board around it like you mentioned. Definitely money well spent. ????

  • Not crazy about the breakup. Sounds harsh, like a bad tube. The clean works really well.

  • Dumb question… Is this a pedal that you can plug your guitar into and either go into an amp input, or use with an fx loop?

  • Another review that would be welcomed probably by lots of people would be this pedal with the Fender Tone-Master FR-10 or FR-12 speaker amp. From reading a few reviews people who have used both like the FR-10 better. Also, a comparison to what this will do in comparison to the full Tone-Master Pro multi-effects pedal.

  • Thanks for the Video Tom. So what's the verdict now? do you still own it? cons? thx

  • I have this pedal and absolutely love it. I use it every day in my studio. It is versatile, easy to use, and sounds so absolutely excellent I just never use my tube amps anymore. Gonna get a Ruby as well. Imagine having a 65 Reverb and an AC30 that can each be routed to six cabs/speaker combos. Not to mention a ribbon mic, a 57 (ok, everybody has an SM57) and a 414. No leaking caps. No blown tubes. Awesome!

  • Really incredibly good Fender clean sound like no other simulation before. I can only confirm. As another commenter noted, the fact that the Dream cannot be turned off when using other sound pedals, so the other sound is performed unedited, is unforgivable. The fact that the pedal has Bluetooth (even if it is absolutely unstable, ultimately miserable, unworthy of the pedal and has not been updated to date) is not even mentioned here, which is a shame. As I said, sensational Fender sound in the pedal, but unfortunately not thought through. I'm keeping my "Dream" and really hoping for (promised) software updates. It's so often said "update capable" and then nothing happens, only empty advertising promises remain. Even the UA hotline can't say anything about it.

  • You gotta use the D65 speaker it’s a two rock extension cab with a ribbon and 57 and it takes you right to John Mayer territory!

  • I love my tube amps but I have this, have gigged with it and I’m very satisfied – no more 40lb load in/out and worrying about a malfunction – plus it’s consistent venue to venue. IMO.

  • Hey thank you for the video! Would you happen to know if I could switch between (or summon) presets from just the pedal?

E.g You are on preset 1 but you set up the right foot switch to pull up Preset 2 with a different volume/output setting. Thus being able to toggle between 2 volume and output configs at any given time.

I’ve been able to do this somewhat with the Live/Preset config but “live” isn’t very… savable. If you get what I mean. Thanks in advance!

  • Thanks. If you gig out with this let us know how it goes. To many bedroom and recording guitarist reviews on this pedal. Not enough from gigging players using it live, on stage.

  • These UAFX pedals sound great. My beef is the footswitch assignments. You can’t have one switch toggling on/off and another switch toggling some effect (e.g., reverb, trem, boost). So, if you want to have a Dream, Ruby, and Woodrow in your rig, you’d have to run them each in separate loops if you want to set the pedal up to use the foot switches for toggling each amp pedal on/off as well as toggling one of the on-pedal effects. UA should add more switch configurations.

  • How would I use this to replace an amp in the live setting? Do I need a DI? I’m not seeing an XLR out?
