I almost bought a d18 at guitar center then picked up the Road Series special, the strings were even shot and it really sounded better, couldn't believe it, kept playing them both back to back and went home with the Road Series special, saved alot of money ????♂️

Guild D-40 Traditional is a D-18 killer. Both excellent instruments though.

I know I’m in the minority, but I like the D35.

The only Martin I ever played that felt and played right to me was a $5k D45. Every Martin I pick up off the shelf has too high of an action and is just stiff and hard to play. Especially above the 5th fret.

I always thought the D-28 was the gold standard and finally had the ability to get one. Played a D-28 and compared it to a D-18 and came home with the D-18.
The D-18 is IMO, the best guitar money can buy. You can certainly spend more money but you will not be getting more guitar!
