My Travel Bass Pedalboard 2025: Huge Tone, Small Setup

Here’s a look at the travel-ready rig I built for the road. Featuring the Origin Effects Cali76 Bass Compressor, Darkglass Anagram, and the Sushi Box Finally v3, this minimalist board delivers everything I need in a small footprint.

  • Im really intrigued to hear your comparison between the Noble and the Finally. A Noble unit is too rich for me, but the Finally would wrap up a few different pedals into one and I'm really interested in the effect it has on the overall tone. For that reason any chance on rolling in some examples of playing with your signal chain with the Finally off, then the same playing examples with the Finally engaged just to hear what it might do?

  • I know you said you misspoke but just to be clear, one wants CURRENT doubler cables, NOT VOLTAGE doublers. Both exist, both have their uses, but in this case one needs more current. Combining the voltage of 3 of the Cioks outputs will send the Anagram between 27 and 54 volts depending on the settings, which would be bad.

  • I'm doing pretty much the same thing. Compressor into Anagram and thats it. I keep my old Genzler DI in my gig bag. For most gigs, I've run the Anagram into the FX send of my combo and out to the PA from the XLR on the Anagram. Works great and I've had more positive comments on tone than I think I ever have.

  • I sold my entire pedalboard and bought a Zoom MS-60B+ and a basic DI box. If you can tune in all those knobs, you can set up the Zoom.
I run DG distortion, DROP tune & DB 160 compressor. And a rechargeable power block. Both get velcroed to my head. If the emergency ever rises, I get the DI. I was so tired of having to take pics of my settings, making sure nothing got bumped, carrying it around, and worrying is someone was gonna spill beer on it.
My rig is exactly how I want it. Light & easy to use. I tune natural E. So I set up 6 channels for natural drop tuning. I play 1 bass every night. Bring 2.
    I'm in & out fast.

  • Not sure if you realise but you can also get flat patch cables that have even less socket protruding (Lynx and EBS make them)

  • What gig bag was that? I’m looking for one that I can put my small pedal board in that also hold my cables and various other things.

  • Try square plugs too. You solder yourself, but they are very slim and compact laying flat against your pedal taking up minimal space.

  • Dude, yup, the sushi box is it! I have the Noble and Anagram and a large board also, I've been a fan of the sushi for a long time, but love the idea of a mini board!

  • This content is very good, congratulations bro. Where did I get this film for the anagram screen?

  • It's hard to explain how Finally v3 sounds, but it magically improves my tone. If I would go minimalist, I would probably be okay with just that coupled with a mini compressor

  • I use the QC right now and I'd love to get an Anagram! The compact size and lighter weight would be wonderful. I tried one out just yesterday and I found it really easy to dial in. Hopefully I can get one relatively soon.

  • Just also set up my Anagram and a wireless pedal on a Pedaltrain Nano + Cioks dc7 + Crux. Now I'm just waiting for the knk shield 😀

  • The Sushi Box Neptunium is a Noble circuit with a tube, the Finally is good but suprised your using a Finally as the Neptunium is the equivelent of the Noble…i ain't so well off & cannot afford every new pedal plus i don't use effects pedals as such, Compressor, Buffered Tuner, Tube (real) Driver & Sushi Box Neptunium or various versions/brands of each pedal…the Anagram will save you space & give you a small neat pedalboard…hope it works out for you, i only use 4 pedals max so not worth me getting a multi-effex unit, and the prices ? getting expensive out there, besides it's all in the fingers..lol….the Sushi Box Neptunium was worth the £320 all in price, so close to a Noble for a fraction of the price, now £1800 – £2000, depending where your on the waiting list, 6 months min now, got to order in advance….neat solution for you, the Cortex will make a good door stop, only kidding, good for home studio….good luck

  • I’ve got a current tripler coming in for my CIOKs SOL, I’m probably going to do a very similar board, been using the RNDI-m with mine and created a comp similar to the Cali76 with the Comp/Limiter block within the Anagram. Without metering though it does make it tough to know what all is happening!

  • Hey Ivan! Nice setup and video! Reminds me of my old setup with a Shure GLXD16+ & Line 6 Helix Stomp.

I have one questions: Is the "finally" actually not a good backup? Because it got a tube inside, which I think is a factor that can break "easily" and harder to replace.

  • Where did you get that protective covering for the Anagram? I tried doing a search but couldn't find anything.
