  • thank you very much that was informative and excellent.

I play bass and have very little musical knowledge and not that much experience and I'm more used to playing 12 bar Blues I use good quality lessons like yours to get the chord structur and if I know / understand the structure I can usually play a reasonable bass to fit the song.

I'm unclear about bar were you show V7/IV with the appropriate root note be C or Bb.

I've got a memory that somebody said that when I see that notation both notes would fit with the cord but the one on the right hand side of the slash (/) corresponds to the lowest note in the chord and that implies to me I should be playing the b-flat and not the C.

p of course I can experiment, but I have neither good hearing nor do have a good ear for changes in tone and they'll probably both sound wrong ,????????????

  • Another Good Lesson Andy! I like how you always go into the details of what the harmony of the song is doing. I also like the clarity and detail of the chord charts and chord diagrams you use in presentations. Thanks again and Best Wishes!

  • Another Good Lesson Andy! I like how you always go into the details of what the harmony of the song is doing. I also like the clarity and detail of the chord charts and chord diagrams you use in presentations. FYI, I am working on Arpeggio's a lot these days and would love to find some good software I could use to develop and print clean arpeggio charts over the fretboard at various locations. I am tired of searching online for printable diagrams like these. Could you provide me a recommendation on software you use or recommend? I tried to provide you my e-mail address in a previous attempt to send this message and the message disappeared. I suspect having my e-mail address in the comment may have been the reason that happened. Thanks Andy, Best Wishes!

  • Another very good lesson Andy! I really like the discussion you always provide on the Harmony of what the song is doing. I also really like the clear chord diagrams and fret diagrams your lessons always provide. I am interested in finding good software to be able to print out good Chord charts like yours and Arpeggio diagrams I can develop over different parts of the fretboard. I am currently working a lot on Arpeggio's starting with Major and Dominant Chords. I am tired of trying to find diagrams and shapes online for these chords and shapes. Could you provide me a recommendation on software that I could look at for this purpose? Let me give you an e-mail address, bluegrassbillward@gmail.com. Thanks Andy, Best Wishes!
