Mike Scott and Elliott Ives create a guitar tandem behind pop powerhouse Justin Timberlake for his The Man of the Woods tour. When Timberlake and the Tennessee Kids were at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, Ives and Scott talked to PG’s John Bohlinger about their gear.
Mike Scott has to cover a lot of sonic territory on the tour, and it takes a lot of guitars to do it. Here is his 2007 Paul Reed Smith Hollowbody II that is strung with DR Hi-Beam strings (.009–.046).
Elliott Ives has recorded and toured with Timberlake since 2013. He carries an ample rack of delectable axes. All of his electrics are strung with Ernie Ball .010–.052 sets and his acoustic steel strings use Ernie Ball .013–.056 sets. Ives’ longtime No. 1 is a beefy 1978 Gibson Les Paul Custom with a Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan Seth Lover in the neck.

duude. neal schon journey was the 1st guy to do tht when eddie van halen intro him a pair of floyds (when i met him back stage when he played in Malaysia 2018). in all honesty i love neal with Gibson more ,fuller tone . his prs is ok. my opinion. Mr.Scott is awesome too

I love Rig Rundown but Mike Scott is a nightmare to interview. Almost a waste of time… so protective for no good reason.If he doesn't have time to do the interview, he shouldn't do it. It gets better as it gets further in… but still negative. Where would he be without Prince ?

Why do a gear interview if you don't want to talk about gear?
PRS knows Brian Moore guitars did the piezo in the bridge first. And their not overbloated in size. Smaller, thinner, curved for comfort, Seymour Duncan’s and better tops. They just sell direct now. USB and synth connection if u want.

1:35 is he saying he is running both Era 1 simultaneously with his Suhr pt-100, through is number one electric , his hollow body PRS , he seemed to say the Era 1 is always on , just at different volume level depending , would be cool to have heard a bit of that blended tone , very cool guy
Clapton had a signature tone, and that wasn't a secret, why in the world would this guy keep his so secret?? I'll never get that attitude, anyway, nice RR, and leaving aside the fact that he's making the most useless RR in the world, great guitarist.
