Lars Lehmann
The bass playing demigod from Bass the World.
"Achtung"
Subscribed on name alone.
beautiful, no complicated explanation but finally short and simple.
Excellent ????
Superb signal to noise ratio in this series.
"bassic information" …I know what you did there. ????
That's foolproof.
Quite early on I settled to "raise them until problems start appearing and then just notch them back a little and your done".
You literally just taught me something new. I have a custom bass I picked up from the shop and the band leader told me that my note was wavy (and it was). Thanks a lot.
Great description.
Curious though: can anyone else hear a bit of distortion in the sound when playing the B string at around 2:45? The P-J bass played at the end sounds much cleaner to my ear. Please give a thumbs up if you can hear the distortion.
A perfect mix of theory and practice. Lars is just great!
What should i do with a jazz bass to adjust the sound of A string (5 string bass). The curve is affecting the voulume of my A string
i really cant good have good tone playing on jazz bass with you put the pickup too much the strings they distorted and if put too much away sounds muddy and low volume thats i prefer precisions the sound good in any kind of position and strings action
Thanks for making this video, great to hear the comparison.
Great video Lars , thank you
G&l pickups have individually adjustable poles
Worth turning off youtube's Stable Volume option for this one.
Great stuff very informative indeed!
The amount of magnetic pull a pickup exerts over the string is negligible, so it shouldn't be used as a measuring stick for sound. And that's even less in active pickups since they have a lower impedance and need to have their sound boosted by a preamp.
Great info. Thanks, Lars!
I see Lars, I watch
Ooo… I WANT THAT BASS! This vid gave me major G.A.S.!
Beautiful basses, good advice. I was freeking out as he was plucking the strings with the screwdriver in his hand so close to the face of the bass.!!!
