Victory Amps Sheriff 22 Plexi-Style Amp Review & Demo
Of all the amps I’ve gotten to play from Victory Amps, the Sheriff amps are among my favorites. The Sheriff 22 is a compact, lunchbox amp designed to put EVERY plexi-style tone in ONE amp.
From Hendrix and Trower to Van Halen and Lynch…this amp does it all!

It is not a forgiving amp.
"You" need to bring it, baby.
It is definitely a jtm45/plexi.
Seriously, jtm45/plexi.
Great review! What was the riff you played at 10:40?
Great review/demo Sean. I recently purchased one of these. I agree with all of your comments. It's excellent little amp full of classic tones.
Nice!! Can you use a A/B to switch between channels in live situations?
Hi Sean, I've got a Victory V40 Deluxe head on the way and I'm looking at a Sheriff also. The only effects I really use would be a boost in front (to push the amp during low-volume gigs) and a delay in the effects loop. I'm wondering if the Sheriff 22 would have enough headroom for average clubs (@150-200 people) or if I should go with the 44. Your thoughts? Thanks for sharing!
How does all the hiss go away when you play but when you just stop to explain the features of the amp, I can easily hear the amp goes like hissssshshhshs. How do you cut the hiss off?
The moment you said that but about EL84's I just thought 'Yes I agree!' Then you said they do a great job at sounding like EL34 rather than EL84….SOLD!
hey sean! Is lowering guitar's volume the only way to get headroom at band levels?
i Think that Sheriff 22 is best amp you can get under 1000 euros! It just can't be better
Great demo! I recently picked up the sheriff 22. Really enjoying it, especially for clean and crunch tones. I don't have a strat but I have a les paul with 57 classics, standard tele with a broadcaster in the bridge and a charvel with a jb/59. With the same settings that you have I'm not hearing the same growl and high gain cutting distortion your getting. With all 3 of my guitars I kind of loose definition and it gets a bit mushy. when I get past 1 oclock on the volume. Are you using a pedal of any kind when your playing the Iron Maiden and VH and what kind of pickups are in your strat? I'm loving this amp at lower gain settings but not getting what I was hoping for at the higher gain settings. Thanks!
Hi, in my sheriff amp on channel II (vol II) when I use timeline delay the signal become distorted (like a clip)… of course all settings are very normal….do you have the same behaviour??
additionally I feel your sound is more harsh (more plexi) I tried the same settings and I Don't get it…. thanks for your time!
Hey Sean, what studio monitors are you using? I'm looking into the isolation booth, but am wondering how to maintain some sort of quality sound in studio? Thanks man! Great video!
Good Demo, Thanks for this one. Like the approach of all knobs in the middle an then go from this point. With the the usage of the master volume the amp shows its character. appreciate it
" its at a manageable volume " he says whilst master volume is on full rotflmao.
Thanks for the demo, I really didn't like the amps tone, sounds lifeless.
