Setup with Marshall JVM410HJS Satriani amp. Demos included from 45;50 using 2012 Gibson Les Paul. If you want more about rack gear then hop over to my website where I discuss things like the Triaxis, GCX switcher and many more aspects of rack gear here: http://www.tonymckenzie.com/triaxis_rack.htm and check the site out… it took me years to create it.

Every review I do is completely unbiased – I sell nothing! and I don’t own any magazines either and I’m not doing this for some shop who would be paying me either. What you get is a review just as if you had bought one of the reviewed pieces yourself! Now what could be better than that?

  • My VoodooLab Ground Control Pro stops responding, sending MIDI messages after 5 minutes of use, i don't know why this happens every time ! Do you think this Comola MIDI Box you bought could solve this problem of MIDI messages errors and latency ?

  • Very tasty playing at the end there Tony. You sounded surprisingly like Santana. What was the slow ballad song backing track??

  • Do a review on the Eventide Eclipse pls. Also can you include the aspect of attenuators. I have bought a Mesa 2:90 simulclass power amp and need to use it at home but its too loud even on 1. I have heard attenuators if mismatched or not used correctly (correct cables) can blow up a power amp immediately but I need one quite urgently. Apparently some are crap and change the sound too so what do I do??

  • Great video thanks for posting! Two questions: When you kink on the effects loop I hear a hum which I have too; any thoughts on the cause? Second, and most critically, are you using presets as is off the card? Your tone is much more pure as when I kick the G-Force on there is noticeable coloring. Any thoughts? Thanks again!

  • hey, great rack. is it possible to switch to two different effects presets/saves simultaniously with one midi channel change? on an mx400? I simply cannot manage to make that magic happen

  • Thanks for such an informative video! I just bought a TC G-Force and am waiting for it to show (Replacing a Lexicon MPX G2 and pedal board as it's a pain) Everyone seems to love the TC so I'm giving it a shot and thanks for the info and time you took creating this for us!!!!!! Many thanks! Rob

  • Hello Tony, great video!. I'm italian and yesterday I got, second hand, a Rocktron Patchmate loop 8 rack system. Never used before midi rack. The user manual sucks…I don't understand how I can program banks, patches ecc.
Actually I haven't a midi pedalboard. I'll get one next week, a behringer 1010. But, can I program banks and presets without a pedalboard? How it works?. For example, If I want to create a patch 2 on bank 3 with loop 1, 2, 4, 5 enabled. Can you explane me?. I have only stompboxes and a Laney Vc30. I want to put delay and chorus in the send return of the amp, distorsion, comp, overdrive before the pre.
    Thank You

  • Hi Tony! how are things! i Love this video, i'm in the middle of building my own rack, i'm really interested in the TC gforce, my first question, is it possible with the rocktron pedal switcher, is if i want to have different effects loop, for example, i like a chorus and delay, and a reverb and chorus, a straight delay, and a flange, is that switchable by the tc electronics, or do i have to push the buttons on the tc gforce rack unit itself?

also can the rocktron switch the different channels of your amp? I am aquiring a boogie duel rectifier and i want to be able to use all 3 channels, can i make patches with the Tc electronics? Over all, eliminating all my pedals of the ground to just 1 pedal unit?

I hope that makes scene haha!

boutton 2  – clean chanel whit g-force effects
boutton3 –  OD chanel no effects
    boutton4 – od chanel whit g-force effects
boutton 1 activaite + boutton 5 "one patch a create with the g-force"

  • Hello, does the JVM have a buffered or passive effects loop? My JCMs volume drop like crazy in the effects loop.

  • Hello Tony, i'm one of your fans here in Phils coz i like your honest video reviews.  In your opinion, which is better a TC G force or the TC G system?  Which has better effects?  Thanks..

  • Thanks for this and all your videos. Was unable to watch all 50 some minutes so forgive me if you already touched on this.

    Quick question regarding rack units:

Classically, certain "effects" (compression, overdrive) are best employed prior to the pre-amp (between guitar and amp), and some (chorus, delay, etc.) between the pre-amp and power-amp (in the effects loop).

Are there any single rack units that allow for both types of placement within the chain?
