Great lesson
So So NICELY Done ❤❤❤
Whoa dude, I'm creating a lead for one of my tunes, and am using this vid as my tool box! Workin' great! Thanks even yet again, Blue!!! ????????
Billy Gibbons plays the same scales , notes, boomer mends, and chords on every recording,! Is He intermediate ?
Wow, I thought I was kind of a low-level intermediate player. But if these are skills that a level 1 intermediate guitarist should know, then I'm definitely nowhere close to where I thought I was!!
I like when I have ah-ha moments and there were quite a few here – THANK YOU VERY MUCH
I think people’s glaze over when you talk to them about finding 3rds, 5ths, 6ths on the fretboard. Mine do. But talk about finding double stops on the e string and the G string in chord shapes, it becomes easier to think about. Find e:2 and G:2. Those are two notes in the D chord. They happen to outline a sixth. Why is it a sixth? It doesn’t matter why, but it’s a common shape in rock, blues, R&B, etc. Do slides with it as you describe in the video. People arent interested in the Theory. The word “interval” puts them to sleep, but tell them, “Put your fingers here and do this. It’s a very common lick that any decent guitarist should know how to use. Hear it in Van Morrison, While Night Is Falling”. THAT they wake up for.
Thems my two cents.
Thanks, Blue. In addition to your outstanding playing and teaching ability, it’s always a great video when your pup makes an appearance.
"Cut off the excess strings" should be on the list. ????
Thanks so much for this lesson! I've been playing guitar on and off for a long time, self-taught, started before the internet was even around. These days, we’re lucky to have YouTube, but with that came the realization that my theory knowledge is lacking, and I’m still missing a lot when it comes to understanding the fretboard.
Your help is pure gold. You break down complex topics into small, manageable chunks and show how to actually apply them in real playing. Please keep it up, thanks for everything you do for players around the world. More lessons like this are more than welcome!
I know all this (and more) as an older player but I sure wish I'd had this lesson years ago. It's extremely well done. I'll save this link to share with up and coming guitarists I might come across. Great job. Thanks.

Best fretboard/theory lesson EVER! Thank you! ????
Theres a few really good intermediate tutors online but you have the ability to bypass all the bs and somehow make me learn more than i thought possible in 10-15mins. Bringing concepts together seemlessly
????????
Very nice lesson
Gran lista de aspectos a mejorar ????????
Yet again, thanks so much, Blue!
Well, definitely NOT intermediate. Helps me know what to work on though.
Gotta say, for all the explanations of 6ths (inverted thirds) I’ve watched, yours made not only the most sense, but you actually explained HOW they are used!
What you said about the I, iV, V chords hit home too. I working on my ear. This lesson made me realize that I tend to picture the one as the lowest chord, then ascending up to 4 and 5, when it can go very differently in real life. That’s one of the reasons I think I have such a hard time figuring out songs/chord changes. Light bulb on!
Great lesson!
Wow!!!! Great video. Thank you so much for all you do for all of us.. Greatly appreciated
???????????????? Vielen Dank
I'm having a pavlovian response. You upload a video, I salivate.
Good comprehensive summary to give us direction. Thanks for the lesson Blue! Cheers from Lombok Indonesia.
Well, I've learned a lot of useful things from many good online teachers, but the one that always sticks with me the most is Blue Morris. Since I don't want to get bogged down in topics, I'll finish what I'm currently working on, but then I'm happy to become a member here. Thanks for the really good explanations!
