???? Here’s how I get Ryo’s bass tone from Bocchi the Rock!, using gear that’s actually affordable.
While the anime shows her playing a Precision Bass, the real recording used a Jazz Bass with a pick, and that changes everything.
I also analyzed the live stage rig and recreated the full tone using my own setup (MXR M80 + Boss CP-1X + Ampeg SVT sim).

The issue p bass vs jazz isn't just the dual PU but also PU output. This can be mitigated some what by varying the PU volume to keep them out of phase. Also, just a side note I personally run the MXR Studio Compressor, I find the sweep/range of adjustment can make it quite for bass use.
I feel like I always ask this but I don't have a Darkglass amp I only have amplitube what is the amplitube equivalent of the Darkglass?

Takahiro Yamada uses a p bass. I understand this video is about Ryo but Ajikan is the inspiration for kessoku band. I think with a pick and a touch of grit, you'd have no problem getting close to the sound with a P bass

Great video! Personally I tried to get it before but it never sounded very much like a p bass, especially in the slap parts, so finding out they used a j bass makes o much sense to me. (Now we just need hirois tone)
