  • Yes Xsonicaudio, are you listening? We need on the fly modulation switching!~
How about this as a mod change method:
Double click the far right button And you enter modulation effect change mode. (Long press right button if double click isn't as easy to implement.. Long press might be better anyway) from there, SHORT click on any one of the five buttons to activate any specific one of the five different modulation effects. As soon as you do that, you are pushed back out of modulation effect change mode. (Time-based effects… Reverb and delay would be handled separately.)
Just a little double tap…(Or long press)… Then choose the effect you want and immediately go to it with one tap. Boom!

That would be pretty close to perfection.
I wouldnt hesitate to buy one immediately if it did that!

And NO! I don't want to pay twice as much for their other pedal… that you can program yourself… That would cost as much as the regular tonex pedal! At that point, I would just use my chocolate midi pedal and a regular tonex pedal…. Would have much better midi support for things like expression pedals that way anyway….

(But please for God's sake… also get rid of that short press amp off or short press cab off function! Do that by mistake and you've completely ruined your song during any sort of live performance)

  • Great Video !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so how do you connect the TonexONE to the tonex editor and the AirstepTX at the same time ???

  • This is precisely what I’ve been looking for to integrate my ToneX One into a live ‘emergency’ rig.
    Thanks for the review!

  • Thank you showing us what the Airstep can do for us Tonex users. Is there spill over when turning on and off the delay and reverbs?.

  • Can the app alone edit a Tonex One connected to the phone via USB? I bet it could. I'd pay for the app without the foot controller, that I don't need.

  • Love the iPhone APP concept because taking a computer to a gig can be a security issue. Does the APP show the battery level of the Airstep? If the battery is running low can a Strymon Zuma or True Tone CS6 or similar Pedal Power be used to run the Airstep using A/C power?

  • Is there a delay between selecting the switch and the patch changing? Sounds like it on my end but not sure.

  • Wondering which will be better, this Airstep or Pirate Midi Polar ???? have you tried it yet?

  • I wonder if this will add more features to my TONEX? Or would it be overkill? Nice work.

  • Has anyone tried the firmware update? My Tonex will not sync with the 1.1 firmware.

  • if I connect the footswitch to a power suply and then the tonex one with type c to the footswitch, does the footswitch power up the pedal?

  • Nice! Sounds really great. I might just have to get that Satriani pack! I have yet to really incorporate the Tonex One into my rig. (have a few too many tools!) This setup would really make it more useful to me. Thanks for the demo!

  • Have you checked out the Valeton GP-5? I think I'm going to pick that up vs a tonex one. Less than half price less than half the headaches of the Tonex world

  • Is there a dotted eighth note subdivision on the ToneX One if you access it via the XSonic Airstep TX?

  • That’s pretty sick man! I’ve been wondering lately if there’s a tone X one controller.
