Marshall Studio Vintage – More than a one trick pony but is it “too loud”?
I’ve gotten a lot of questions about the Marshall Studio Vintage Combo amp so I decided to make this video using a variety of settings, guitars, and pedals to really put it through it’s paces to let it speak for itself.

GEAR/DEMO NOTES – Interestingly, all segments done on the Jaguar with the amp in full power mode. The PRS absolutely would have been a little smoother on the low sensitivity input. The Strat and the Les Paul were both perfect. That is all for today.

Very enjoyable review Jim…
I've had that amp for 4 years I think it is now. It was the reason I bought an attenuator!
However, I ditched the attenuator about a year or so back and I find it much more enjoyable to play. I still think it's a bit loud to play as my neighbours are fairly close. Perhaps that's because I want to use it loud, so maybe there's just that inclination.
All of my offsets sound excellent.. Your jag sounded killer!
Your riffs are always awesome but this video was especially awesome ????
I love how it sounds with the Jaguar. Such a beautiful guitar.
Just casually gets one of the best rhythm sounds you’ll ever hear immediately
Great playing Great Stream Great Sounds
I've been wanting one of these since they were released but I have too many (cheap) amps taking up space. I live in a house but even moderate volume that would be comfortable for me would annoy the other residents LOL. A 1W DSL into a Vintage 30 is 100 dB.
I preferred the LP, but that's because I'm old and an LP into a Marshall is where it's at. P-90s, humbuckers or mini humbuckers, it's all good. I do have Teles and Squiers; I'm not a Gibson snob.
Love the Hocus Pocus riffing at 07:02 ????????that’s a deep cut not many people know of in this day and age
Jaguar sound magnificent with this amp
????????????
Sounded amazing with every guitar. I liked the Jaguar tones the best!
Hope your mac studio gets working 🙁
Thanks for uploading Jim!
Hey if that's not the one, then what amp should I get to initiate that divorce? Please keep your recommendations under the cost of a really cheap lawyer.
It’s funny you know, I dunno if it’s an age thing or just coming round over the years to the fact that a good guitar into a Marshall amp is just a fantastic sound. A proper rock n roll sound, familiar yet crazy inspiring. It definitely suited the fenders amazingly and I preferred that sound vastly over the PRS (which surprised me, tbh and that still sounded great don’t get me wrong!) but of course for outright rock tone- there was only one growling winner and that was the LP for me???????? but the fenders sounded incredible across a broader spectrum – these are good options to have ???? great demo as ever mate!
