Hey all, there are a few things that lead to good tone: One is the equipment. When Roger added midrange to the preamp he already designed, it became a bass that could cover endless styles, with tone variety. The second thing is the way you touch the strings (fingers, thumb, pick etc). The main thing that gets you to your best tone is using the above tools to please your own ears. At that point your brain takes over and your touch begins to compensate to help arrive the sound you want to hear in your head. Roger’s basses just make it easier to get there! ????????
