  • What i really like about the ultrabass is that it plays in an octave type mode which gives you the high and low end.

The MAG 300 is a better design technically and probably sounds better too. The BX4500H is an upgraded BX3000T and is VERY similar.

Can't comment on sound for the BX3000T but I expect it's much the same as the BX4500H lacking some definition but has TONS of power and balls, the preamp section, you can bet, is identical. The MAG 300 has a far better designed preamp, is quiet and the 'ultrabass' feature works better too although I think it's a crap feature.

I don't think you'll be that dissapointed with either. if you go for the BX4500H instead some suffer very noisy preamps so be warned."

I can comment on the BX3000T as I own it and like it alot. I haven't tried the BX4500H and I probably won't, because even as cool as it is, I'd go with the amp that inspired both the BX3000T and BX4500H, the one that Behringer cloned/reverse engineered (MAG 300 EVO III), as it can be found on ebay for a lower price used.

  • I have 2 x BX3000 amps and a BX4500, got them cheap, as people upgraded. The 4500 is better than the 3000, not just louder. Same tonal options all sound better. I've used Ashdown, GK and Markbass amps and think the 4500 is equal or superior. Markbass I dislike, class D amps lack tone. So who cares that they're light and small. And Ashdowns have zero tone. Ignore the snobs here, they like spending money on a brand name.

  • I own the 3500 prior to the 4500, have to say it was reliable and had good sounds, brought it use for$120! I eventually setup to more high end stuff but Behringer never let me down. still don't like their speakers though!!!

  • Get an EHX Big Bass Muff. The Dry setting and on that is just sick and the Tone dial helps with an amazingly deep sound.

  • I owned one of these. You can buy these used for $125-150. UltraBass is a octave effect and it is a good octave effect. When you put it sided by side with a Markbass or other hi quality you will find out it just lacks good tone. You get what you pay for.

  • I own a  Behringer and I love it! I also own an Ampeg SVT3 and find myself using the Behringer more often. I've gotten a lot of compliments from the sound it get from it.
