From couchsurfing to playing the Ryman, rockers Whiskey Myers of Palestine, Texas, have had one hell of a Cinderella story. We caught up with guitarist John Jeffers back in 2021 for a virtual Rig Rundown, but this time around, ahead of the September release of their seventh LP, Whomp Whack Thunder, PG’s Chris Kies met up with Jeffers and rhythm guitarist Cody Tate before their July 19 gig at Nashville’s Ascend Amphitheater to get a tour of their latest and loudest noisemakers.

One of the best live shows you'll see. Cody and John are criminally underrated. They absolutely rip. Nice they added different mold to their setlist. Great older song of theirs, one of my favorites.

Lehle p-split with a volume pedal after each split would give a blend of two amps. It would make the sound person’s job pretty tough though. You could get really complex with more splitters and jhs volume knobs going into a loop splitter to have different settings but you might as well just split the signal evenly into two amps.

Love how far rig rundowns have come! Would love for you guys to get an updated rundown with Brad Paisley. Last one was back in 2010? And also Shane Smith and the Saints.
the sound have never been better!!! sounds fab!
Alot of people still don't get it. But those old growth 90's woods in those Gibson's are special guitars. I own 12 of them. If I could own them all I would. The good to bad ratio is about 8 in 10 are awesome. No joke. They are sensational.
Peter Klett from candlebox would use an ernieball pan pedal (looks like a volume) which would pan the signal from his Roland 120 combo to his Marshalls

Yes finally bro last Rig Rundown was done such a horrible way covid-19 etcetera John Jeffers is such a great guitar player and his Amigo Cody Tate these guys are so underrated
In regards to blending to tones together at the same time or coming from one to the other without ever losing signal, Ernie Ball used to make a volume pedal in the late 80s early 90s that I used to use that had a little toggle switch on the side that you would engage that and it would either be an a B box without ever losing signal or if you tapped it to the side both amps would come out at the same time you could blend clean dirty sounds. I love that pedal, but unfortunately, I don’t think they make it anymore but totally get where he’s going with that idea.

just saw whiskey myers last night with tedeschi trucks! They were great.
Jimmy Herring used to do the same thing blending amps back in the Jazz is Dead days with a vol pedal – blending a Fender with a Marshall JMP. Ian Thornley has done this in Big Wreck as well. Suhr PT100 for his main tone, then blending in a Suhr Hedgehog for leads.
