SFT by Catalinbread – Quadrant #3, Motown Bass Tone
SFT by Catalinbread demonstrating it’s reach into the 3rd design quadrant, MOTOWN bass lines! In this clip Howard plugged a Fender Jazz Bass directly into a 1964 Ampeg B15 for the first passage. For the nest passage the same bass was plugged into the Trace Elliot with the SFT OFF. The third part was the Jazz Bass into the Catalinbread SFT into the Trace.
The SFT adds just enough harmonics that responds to your finger tips – just like that old B15 does.
Howard did the take in one shot. In that spirit we approached the A/V production.

Plot twist: he actually plugged his bass back in the B-15…
That is a disgustingly perfect instrument.
