Icelandic blues rockers Kaleo released their fourth full-length LP, Mixed Emotions, on May 9 via Elektra. To celebrate the album in their adopted hometown, they threw a party at American Legion Post 82 in East Nashville.
Some of the band’s gear had already been shipped to Red Rocks Amphitheater, where the official release show took place on May 10, but “Kentucky Fried Scandinavian” lead guitarist Rubin Pollock gave PG’s Chris Kies a look at the must-haves loaded in for the legion gig.

What a great Guy, his guitar influences are so inline with mine I can't wait to check more Kaleos' music out. I really enjoyed A/B then I miss placed the band in the shuffle, definitely my loss! Thanks for sharing your basic rig, looking forward to a deep dive into the catalog and certainly the new release.
Boy I love that Kustom,
Kaleo was one of the best bands I've seen live. Period. Even if JJ seemed to be a bit miffed that day. Still, they all have a great performance and that's what matters in the end.

Rubin holds a special place in my heart. KALEO as a whole does but every time I visit their concerts, which I do very often, he draws me in with such emotional and fantastic guitar playing and he is just a great guy. I still play with the plectrum he gave me to this very day.
Rubin is such an expressive player. I love the emotion on Chris's face when Rubin is demoing the guitars. You can the see inspiration and appreciation. Great band and RR PG!!
Kaleo is a great band and this was a fun rig run down…but dude looks like Charlie Berens.

It says this is an Icelandic band, but Rubin sounds like he’s from the Netherlands. Perhaps the two languages sound that similar? I dunno. Someone help me out here. ????
