Guitar Hacks To Instantly Sound ESQUIRE | Explore

Using the DD5 as a “fun metronome” definitely feels like a guitar hack. Starting with Riff 1 instantly so I can set up the pulse off camera has helped me feel less stressed than I was doing it on camera hah! This pass felt really good. I am thinking maybe ~5 minutes would be best for this. Actually maybe I will listen to this a bit more because it is within range of the take especially since I am hoping to collaborate with others on this track so any inaccuracies wouldn’t be so exposed.

Almost zero energy to put toward Riff 2 today but I feel like I actually got the transitions mostly right so that is a win!

There are also some guitars that feel like it is impossible to play a wrong thing on. For me this is this Squier Bullet Strat 6 Hardtail. It is a guitar that is its own guitar hack hah! Wow it was so much fun to play the riff at 15:45 . This I definitely grabbed the audio of for further use.

 I am playing the Esquire 9 String and Squier Bullet Strat 6 String into the 4G℞E Amp powered by 9V AC adapter into the Ampeg 810. Left channel audio is coming from the 810 close-mic’d with the Marantz PMD 222 and the right channel audio is the output of the 4G℞E Amp into a JDI direct box into a hardware limiter into the camera.

I have split the daily session into two videos: the opening suite and the explore section. I think this will help me maintain a certain level of consistency at a lower stress level. We’ll see!

In the Explore section, I am working on pieces in-progress as well as just doing some free playing to see if the muse is speaking.
