Ibanez GRX20 The Best Electric Guitar For $150?

The Ibanez GRX20 http://amzn.to/2xWSQET in my opinion is the absolute best guitar you can get for under $200. I currently own two of them. A black one I play in my Surf Rock band, and a white one I use for my home recording projects. I share a little bit of info, history, and show some examples of using the guitar.

  • Thanks for this. Just to confirm – the tremolo really does hold up under proper use? If I have a higher budget – say 500 – 700 dollars, which Ibanez would you advise I get. Seeking something with a flat and wide neck, and a vintage style tremolo.

  • I have a Black one, I need a white one, but I can't find it in Brazil. I'm in a Slipknot cover band, and I want a Guitar that looks close to Jackson MTM2

  • I bought the black GRX 20L about 20 years ago (lefty) and still have it. Not a guitar player, I play keys. Every once in a while I will pick it up and play it, and it never went out of tune over long periods. Found your review due to my interest in getting to play a little more and use in recording real guitars instead of samples on the keys. I am running it through a Boss 1600 digital recorder for the nice Roland effects. Thanks for a nice review of the Ibanez GRX 20.

  • I’m torn between this and the squier bullet mustang. Which one would you suggest is better for playing hard rock?

  • I have had mine since 2000. Mine is blue and black. I paid $480 Aus back then. Its been my favourite guitar ever. Now the pick ups and screws a starting to rust. No problem with it what so ever. Great guitars.

  • You are right, it is an awesome guitar. Ive been playing almost 5 decades, i picked it up and was sold.

Only difference is mine has a five way switch.

Also yes, compared to say a squire, i think the trem stays tuned better due to both the size of the tuning pegs, and the angle of the headstock.

For example low e pitch angle on a squire is way sharper.

Also this cheap guitar has some sustain to it. More than a squire, even unplugged.

    It is my number one.
