Simply joyous to watch and listen . Excellent interview
One of the best ever!
Age got nothin to do wit it…old or young????????…..thanx.
Makes me want to buy a P-Bass
his groove is so smooth , that's amazing
I'm late to the party for this video. As a bass hack, this was thrilling to watch. I felt like I was sitting there with you. Right around "That's What Friends Are For", I was wondering to myself how many off-camera takes it took for Freddie to remember those iconic bass lines. Uh, can you say none? Incredible. I'm also really glad you brought up "Outside From The Redwoods". I was hoping to hear him recount that. Thanks so much, Mason!!
Wow ????
Honorable MENTION~! (*Again?) :: *BASS player., JAMES JAMERSON~! * Sorely missed! ***PEACE., **BLESS~! [ MARVIN GAYE., also~! ]
What a joy.
Please write a book sir. You are my favorite bassist. I've listened to a lot of em but you're the one I look up to. Live interviews are cool, but I've learned as lot in my life through my favorite people's autobiographies.
Thank you for the interview, both of you; it is very appreciated.
What a talent, wow.
❤
The base is the lead and it tells a story with the feel in's……That's what makes a hit record….just my opinion as a musician.
Good interview
For "Sweet Love" he was making love to that Bass. So amazing. How he pours himself into every single note. This is when it's good to be on Earth.
When he break it down a mark 1:17:19 is ????
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
So fricken good ????
59:05–59:30 is just incredible
E ele ta usando o próprio baixo fender precision usado nas gravações originais! Muito top!
The way he loves and respects that bass guitar the focus is amazing.
BLACK PASSION
He has been in my life from a child with not idea of his impact on me.
Great interview. Thanks
He's very humble
It's funny how there are great artists in the background that we (I) never heard of
How can I get in touch with mr.washington to See how much he charges for playing on independent rap album?
Lenda viva do baixo, parabéns
Holy crap ???? ????????????????????????????????????????
One of Best Bassists in Funk/Soul!
This is the best !!!! Giv us more !
Fantastic interview! I really enjoyed it. Thanks for that! ????
He tastes the notes
Awesome! His name reminds me of the album Ready for Freddie by Freddie Hubbard
THE ONE !!!!!!
Pockets are DEEP!
Give some love to Leo Quan; a Yeller Man.
THIS GUY IS ONE BAD M@#@%@@ER!!!!!! WOW!!
wow timing is so dam good! GROVE!!! FREDDIE!!!!!!!!!
Up there with the legendary Bernard Edwards with that incredible thumb technique
Unprecedented talent
I wonder if he every played in MJ's band with Jonathan Moffett. I feel like those two would have been a powerhouse.
The precision of not just his timing but also in terms of dynamics and consistency of timbre is spectacular. His bass lines are so meticulously crafted and specific to each individual song that the bass line and the song become ultimately become one. He clearly understands the value of space and as if these abilities were not enough, he’s got tone for days!
He's from Oakland but what's his date of birth? I can't find it anywhere.
Many many thank’s for making this Video !
One question: Mr. Washington spoked about the strings on „Forget me Nots“ are „Rotosound‘s“. Are this on this Video on his 73 P-Bass Flatwounds ?
