Twig 86 – Musicman REPLACE Gibson | Hotone Shrink their Amp
Get a Beetronics Wannabee for £2 – https://elkqr.link/raffall-wannabee
Guitars are getting weirder, amps are getting smaller, and Behringer just made a pedal I don’t want. What is happening?

Spinal Tap – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1ryx-eRSwSs
In this week’s gear rundown, PRS resurrects a modern metal monster. Victory rethinks cabinets (adorably). And Behringer clones yet another Moog box, only this time I’m surprisingly not foaming at the mouth to buy it. Also, Hotone shrinks everything again, and a St. Vincent sighting in Spinal Tap 2 might be the biggest thing to happen to signature guitars since Slash wore a top hat.

To be fair…
Spinal Tap have always looked forward and not backward…
ever since that cycling accident with the hippo…
Last time that Fender custom shop guitar, and now this PRS Signature model in the 6.000-7.000 EURO price range… ????Our World, and these big, worldwide, "consumer" guitar companies have gone into the wrong direction…????????For this huge amount of money anyone can buy 1 (or 2) guitars from some of Europe's best luthiers, and for sure the end product will be a unique, "one and only" instrument made in a quality even these global custom shop/limited models cannot surpass. ????
F$*%ing HELL, Man! I thought that St. Vincent was REAL!
I robbed that liquor store for nothing.
You should do an intro instead of the week in gear
Welcome back to Twig (the week in gear)
The ringmod is exactly the one I was waiting for. Thanks for the news!
That Ho is a real Hot one.
Boomer guitars are evil.
Man, that PRS is butt ugly
I agree on the charcoal wraparound burst being a favourite colour for Mark’s PRS. Admittedly, not for the same reasons mind you – less feline genocide and more ‘me see me like’.
Did you create that entire Lion King set up just so you could crack that 'Holcomb-ma-matata' joke?
I'm not angry, just disappointed.
It always blows my mind that Gibson have never done a David St Hubbins white P90 SG. Nigel went through a lot of guitars, but that was the one David used the most throughout the film. It would have been a great idea to do a few of those in reference to the original in the run up to this.
I find it funny how the younger generation is against insulting people based on their race, gender identity, ability, etc etc. However , crapping on people because of their age is OK.
Ok, so the Victory cabs contain a 12" speaker, weigh 8.8kg and are "adorable" but you didn't actually state their size. Are they ~16" and therefore at risk of being crushed… by a dwarf?
Emily Roberts of The Last Dinner Party is a major St Vincent player. A phenomenal player who never gets the credit she deserves as they always seem to be having too much fun. Her left hand position is perfection, perhaps explained by her having a degree in music and being an advanced jazz and classical player! If ever a younger player deserved a signature model.
I have been playing for nearly fifty years. "Would I actually use it" has saved me many times. But not always ????
Thanks for the feature! ???? We can’t wait to hear your thoughts after trying it out.
For those curious, we found in our listening tests that the smooth base response coupled with the 98db sensitivity of the Seventy 80 really lent itself to the ultra compact metal 1×12 enclosure.
The slightly scooped mid range and how the human ear works means that the Seventy 80 give the impression of a much bigger sound which in such a compact enclosure is ideal. The other bonus is that the Seventy 80 is 1.6kgs lighter than the V30. ????
I've never understood ring modulation. My first ever multi FX had it and it made everything sound like utter s**t…and having watched the (actually brilliantly done) Behringer demo I can safely say it still sounds s**t.
Is it Hot Tone or Ho Tone ?
I watch this show because it’s awesome and also because of my boy Hugh G Rection getting that shout out every time lol
Another Union Jack guitar…????….how original…is this spinal sarcasm?
14:05 Music Man make some of the finest production guitars available, whether they’re US made or not, which take inspiration from the classics we all love but with modern touches that render them better choices for working musicians. Each of these Union Jack finished guitars are artist models too so have been designed with onstage usability in mind. Let’s face it, the St Vincent is a re-imagined S-type guitar and the Valentine is a re-imagined T-style guitar, and are both exceptional examples. No wonder these leviathans of Rock have chosen them!!!
First at all as a boomer am,at the young age of 61, I hate boomer guitars, give me etc(ESP which I own)schecter, Jackson, solar etc. anytime of the day, are you young whippersnappers need to stop the Boomer hatred
Absolutely adore the Union jack guitars ….. I want one
Those victory cabs are nice but a 70/80 wouldn't be my first choice, surprised they didn't mix them, v30 in the kraken, cream backs in a few, not many choose a 70/80 as an upgrade but I've known a few that love them
I also got excited with the Jack wraps, but I’ve sold a st. Vincent model I owned because that lower bout was restricting when playing solos. Will keep an eye out for the Valentine though, it would feel very Brian May without it being his signature guitar.
You really worked hard on that Lion King joke, eh, Andy?
Celestion Seventy 80 makes me all ????but cool of Victory to do these cabs. Take extra special care of that Tele; we can't afford to lose it to the upside down…
Saw Spinal Tap’s original release…when it was released ???????? ????????
