Fastest Way to a Deathcore Breakdown (Drop A, Quad Cortex Tone) | Sunday Riff Refinery Ep 29

In this episode of Sunday Riff Refinery, I’m taking my 7-string GOC Vajra Plus in Drop A and building a full-on deathcore breakdown using the Neural DSP Quad Cortex with the brand new Archetype Nolly X and Parallax X update. If you’re into bands like As Blood Runs Black or Through the Eyes of the Dead, this tone and writing session will be right up your alley.

I’ll walk you through my exact tone chain on the @NeuralDSP Quad Cortex, from input and adaptive gates to the amp, cab, and EQ settings that make this sound punch through. We’ll build the drums with @Bogren.Digital Bogren Digital’s Krimh Drums, lock in the rhythm guitars, and write a section that can either sit perfectly in this track or stand alone as a breakdown.

You’ll also hear a tone shootout between the Quad Cortex and Bogren Digital plugins, so you can decide which fits the song better. All tones are raw, with no mix bus or mastering, so you hear them exactly as they come out of the gear.
