For those who don't get it: SRV owned dozens of tube screamers, and that was more than likely one of his favorites. With the varying degree in parts tolerances, especially older pedals, they all sound different. Same reason why Jimi Hendrix went through every Vox Wah in stock to find the best one to buy. While it is slightly insane on paper, I appreciate the diligence to map out and recreate an icon's favorite overdrive pedal. ✌️❤️
This is hilarious. Treating these pedals like they’re made of magic because they belonged to or were used by someone famous is ruining the used market. That tube screamer is most likely 99.99999% exactly the same as all of the other ones made in the same year.
Honestly you can play a joyo tubescreamer and get the same sound wich comes from your nice strat, amp and of course your playin

I love SRV as well, but it’s getting kind of sad watching people chalk up his sound purely to the pedals he used at any given time and then try to monetize that you “reverse engineered” a pedal that’s been in production for decades. Honestly, what you’re doing is insulting to SRV’s legacy.

Everybody hating but tbh I dig it. I mean yea there’s a lot of Stevie imitation but not everyone is tryna invent their own style of music. Some people just wanna feel like their hero and I don’t think there’s a dang thing wrong with that. And it’s also a very accessible route into Stevie’s rather expensive tone and I’m all for it.
