  • Errr WRONG! Celestion were using passive radiators in the early 70's! I know because my parents owned one! A Celestion ditton15 with an 8 inch passive radiator on the front . It definitely aint no new thing. That said I like Joyo. Despite their quirkiness, they provide excellent if not the best bang for your buck in a modern product. Even though they are hit & miss. This might suck in a few ways. But the 50w Joyo Bantamp badass bass amp is AMAZING…….for the money.

  • Since when is a passive speaker a modern technology? Passive speakers have been available in consumer electronics since the 60s.

  • The Mid Freq is badly named and oddly positioned between the Mid range and Bass – I'm guessing they did that because of the dual use of the Bass knob as a Bluetooth switch. Mid Freq is kind of a "poor man's parametric EQ scale", meaning it sets the middle frequency around which the bass, mid, and treble pots add or subtract. And if you set them to 12 you'll hear they do in fact work like traditional EQ knobs. The counterintuitive thing is that setting the Mid Freq low makes the mid range EQ sound more like a bass pot because that's where the frequencies lie. Quirky – but once you get used to it, it's quite flexible tone-wise for a small amp.

  • The absence of built-in DI is frustrating for something so small that could always use DI support. I get built to a price but I’d prefer to pay a little extra for a built in DI. I think that’s a critical omission and it should be just as standard on any bass amp as an input jack or power cord.

Still intrigued about this amp. Great review.

  • Just picked one of these up. I’m quite surprised with it so far! I wish it got just a tad louder but the tone is great for what it is!

  • Might sell my rumble 25 for this. Have a 4×10 and 15 at church but want something small for home practice.
