Vintage Guitar Amp for Under $100? – Danelectro Nifty Fifty

I got my Nifty Fifty on Reverb https://reverb.grsm.io/niftyfifty. The Danelectro Nifty Fifty is a little known great amp from 1998 that sounds awesome and is far louder than one would think for a 15 watt solid state amp. I don’t know how Danelectro did it, or why they stopped making these. But you can still find them for very cheap amazingly (at least for the time being). This is actually the second one I have owned. I had one before and always regretted selling it.

  • Wow, this Danelectro sounds amazing! Really reminds me of the Champion 600 I used to have a few years ago. I’ve got my eye on both the Nifty Fifty and Fender Bronco. Hoping to snag one of them soon, or maybe even both if I’m lucky!

  • I found with mine if you used a equalizer and a Reverb pedal . You can make some Jack White/Ron Asheton sounds

  • I saw your vid on cleaning up the tone by changing the LED.
I just got a Dirty Thirty and it isn't sounding good.
Sounds like the Dirty Sweet is half way all the time.
The Nifty Fifty I have is much more clean.
Any suggestions what might be wrong?
    LED burned out?
    Any help appreciated.

  • Wen wanting one of these amps for quite a while. I mainly play fiddle for country bands and we mainly play venues that aren’t quite full on huge venues or small bars. Kind of an in between really. Just wanting something that has a nice rich bottom end sound but enough power that that I can hear myself. I think I might have to get myself one of these after watching this videos. Also as weird as this sounds a fiddle sounds pretty good with a little bit of crunchy overdrive, at least to me.
