@tonegems Most appreciated!! And you can bet I will visit your website for sure. You seem like a great guy to deal with , if only things were a bit different for me right now.
@biznatchio I am sorry to hear that, I totally understand. Keep on truckin and don't get discouraged. I will pray that a new job (even a better one!) will open up for you soon. I will check in on your YouTube channel from time to time to see what's happening. Also, please feel free to visit my Tone Gems website as I will be posting some exciting vintage gear in the near future. Good luck, and God bless!
@tonegems I'm so sorry but I lost my job of 12 years as of Dec 2. Otherwise I would have jumped on the chance. Good luck with that , if I had the finances I would but I have to focus on getting myself back out there.
Thanks for the consideration however it would have been an awesome addition to my collection.
@biznatchio hi biz. The guy who bought the amp changed his mind. I am putting it back up on ebay for sale. Interested?
@biznatchio I have posted a new video with cleaner audio. It is posted on my YouTube and eBay auction. I guess I can't paste the links in here for some reason?
That is great news!! thanks for the update!
@biznatchio I just spent the last hour or so playing around with this amp and the video camera. I am almost positive that neither the amp, nor the speaker is clipping, and that they are functioning normal. I think the problem is with the camera's microphone. I will try to get a new video posted to this site and to the auction before mid-week. Please stay tuned…
Ah that makes total sense. Yeah let me know how that goes. I'm interested in partaking in the bid if it pans out there are no issues. I also noticed on mine that the back plug seems to be part of the issue. if I jiggle it , it can literally cut out. Just another hint if you run into a wall with your tests.
@biznatchio I do not have the static or other problems you mentioned. I am going to plug the bass guitar in tonight and run some more tests. My son says the clipping might have been caused by overloading the video camera's microphone and not the speaker.
Not off hand. I feel it might even be problem with the amp. it's hard to say. When I turn up the volume and tone control with nothing plugged in there is a pretty odd frequency response that occurs until i find a sweet spot. If you hear the same thing , my suggestion is see if you can dial back the volume and/ or tone until that stops happening, then plug back in and see if you have static free playing. if so it doesn't fully solve anything but it does show a consistent issue with these rigs
@biznatchio Do you have any suggestions for a replacement?
@biznatchio Unfortunately, I think you may be right about the speaker. I didn't seriously notice the problem until I listened to the audio in the video. I normally play guitar, not bass (my son is playing the bass in this video). I might have to cancel this auction and figure out what to do. I don't want to sell something that has a problem! Thank you for your careful listening and input!
I could be wrong but that sounds like your speaker is blown man. I have the same amp and it clips at high volumes like that too. It didn't look like it could handle any of those low frequencies for a bass amp without clipping. Considering I was looking at this auction for a replacement to my rig could you give me some input on that?
